Romney Tackles Crucial Late-Night Jokefest TestPosted on Dec 20, 2011
Sure, he’s tall and suave (for a Republican), and fine, his politics resonate on at least an acceptable level in GOP circles, except for that whole health care thing, but Monday, presidential hopeful Mitt Romney faced one of the biggest litmus tests for today’s politician: cracking wise on late-night TV. Good thing it was scripted. Romney made a cameo on the “Late Show With David Letterman” to rattle off the show’s signature Top Ten list, which predictably amounted to a lineup of jokes at his own expense, with the expected payoff of making him look “hip” and less like a cardboard cutout of himself. So how’d he do? Take a gander below. —KA “Late Show With David Letterman” via CBS: Advertisement Previous item: Season's Greetings From Occupy Harvard Next item: 'Democracy Now!': The Koreas of the Future New and Improved CommentsWe are launching a major overhaul of our comments section. The Letterman show…..Really?
Is he really that desperate? Where DO they find their comedy script writers and jokes…Kim Jong Il’s recently cancelled 2012 birthday roast?
Then again he has been on a comedy TV series road smash failure lately….The GOP Primary Debates(?),they were satire weren’t they?
Did it help his image with Dems? One wonders if it was the apprentice at ‘the children’s Television workshop’ that worked his strings.
I drew flip comics in grade 5 that were more lifelike.
Note to Mitt choose your comedy show more carefully one where *your* sense of humour shows….That Tonight Show isn’t it.
