I hope that the protesters in Wisconsin indeed wake people up to the dangers of the current right-wing attack on unions and workers.  But I have to wonder why Wisconsin voters turned rightward in the first place.  How could so many traditionally intelligent and progressive Badgers vote for cruel politicians who promised to address the country’s problems by being cruel and intolerant?
Hitler came to power because ordinary German citizens supported it.  Could it be Wisconsinites are no different than those 1930s Germans?
By the way, the same thing is happening all over the country.  Budget deficits, caused by the economic collapse triggered by the very policies now being touted by the right-wing politicians in power, are just a cover for justifying lower wages, fewer government services, reductions in promised social security, worse healthcare, less access to education, and, yes, oppression.  Enjoy the future!

“The Republican party is the Fourth Reich.  The American people have given the Republicans the power to decimate their enemies.”

“The American people are stupid, uninformed, cowardly idiots.”

———————————————————————————

Two years ago the American people were enlightened citizens of the world having elected their first Black president.

Now they are stupid, uninformed and cowardly idiots.
And they elect Nazi’s into power.

There is nothing going on in Wisconsin which is outside of the realm of legitimate left/right politics.  The people wanted a change, so they moved to the right and elected Walker.

He does what he ran his campaign on, some unions take some losses, and the left goes into meltdown mode and declares Walker a Nazi.

How original.  Can’t you lefties find a routine that is more productive?

Hard to take the Wisconsin discontents seriously in light of everything else going on around the world.

Resorting to violence is counterproductive.  Standing united is the
better course.  Egypt should be a model always kept in mind.

Also to be kept in mind is hostile to the people: The Republican
Party and all the politicians who are registered Republicans.  Defeat
them at elections and this country will correct itself on its true liberal
feet.

The Republicans are the real enemy of the people and must be
defeated at every election from every local election to every
national election from now on until they have been politically
disinfected.

In Bangladesh a seamstress make 30 cents a day, no stinking collective barging for them. This may be the last gasp for the American worker, I cannot comprehend why any sane working man or woman would vote Republican, never the less unemployed voting at all?
