Raw Video: Petraeus Collapses in the Senate

If you can’t take the McCain, get out of the hearing. Gen. David Petraeus was rushed from a Senate chamber Tuesday after fainting in the middle of a question from Sen. John McCain.

So far jet lag, dehydration, exhaustion and a lack of breakfast have all been cited as possible explanations.

The general recovered almost instantly from his fainting spell and returned to the room expressing a desire to continue, but the hearing was suspended for a day.

The Guardian points out that Petraeus was treated for prostate cancer last year, although he announced his cancer only after learning that the treatment was successful.
