Presidents Obama and Calderon Dish on Arizona Immigration Law

Posted on May 19, 2010

The presidents of North America’s two most populous countries (deal with it, Canada) have a lot to talk about, but Arizona’s controversial immigration law, which Felipe Calderon has condemned and Barack Obama has critiqued, stole the show.

There are some discrepancies concerning Calderon’s translation, but you can get the White House’s version, along with Obama’s remarks, here.

Calderon doesn’t like Arizona law? Big news!

He’s a criminal in the latest line of criminals running Mexico. They can’t or won’t provide a future for their own people so they expect the USA to take whatever they send.. people, drugs.. whatever. Obama is the latest facilitator of the poisonous relationship between our two countries.

For the record I can’t decide which is worse:

1)The fear and racism in Arizona.

2)That a foreign dictator is allowed to stand next to our president and complain about our democratically derived laws.

3)The fact-less, baseless ‘feel good, feel bad’ media coverage of all these issues.. which demand and require in-depth discussion!

Swine flu began in US-owned pig factory in Mexico.

The chain stretches to a non-descript office in Brookline, Massachusetts.

The flow of M&M [Meth & Marijuana] across the border will be stopped. Mexican President Felipe Calderon will not sleep until every drug dealer is behind bars. But he cannot afford to do it alone, billions are needed from the US to pay for the costs of his war. After he cashes the check, thousands of drug enforcement agents will climb into the mountains, they will stop and frisk every peon and mule for M&M. Felipe Calderon is a friend that can be trusted to stop illegal drugs and corruption in Mexico. Lets support him.

This scoundrel Calderon is a member of Mexico’s elite which has suppressed and discriminated the lower classes for centuries and has abused these classes to further its greedy interests in all of Mexico’s numerous uprisings and revolutions. And, please, don’t throw the NAFTA bromide at me because that same elite has supported and profits from NAFTA.
Exploiter meets exploiter.

Two Corporatist Fascists at work.

Calderon is associated with US oil’s attempt to denatioanlize Mexico’s Oil and get rights to drill off shore Mexico.

He is a “Neo-Liberal” whose days are numbered.

My favorite part of this event was when Barry O listed the people who are in
the US without using illegal or undocumented, as if that’s not even a status.
Let’s call it what it is, please, and stop with the PC nonsense. Here’s the truth
of the matter, if Mexico would actually do something productive with their
abundant natural resources their own people would have jobs and wouldn’t be
willing to risk death to get out of their country. Calderon wants us to take his
citizens into our country so that they will send money back into Mexico and
that way he and his corrupt government won’t have to deal with the problems.

Calderon should look at his own country’s immigration policy and compare it
to ours and then he can look himself in the mirror and see the biggest
hypocrite in the world. The US should not stop the flow of those trying to
migrate? OK, let’s see what Mexico does with Guatemalans and Hondurans who
try to enter their country.. oh, I know, 2 years in prison. I did something
apparently no one in the administration is willing to do- researched Mexico’s

According to the AZ law, it is ILLEGAL for a policeman to stop someone to
check their status unless they have committed another crime. What’s wrong
with stopping someone for, I don’t know, say maybe, an assault and trying to
find if that person is legally entitled to being here? NOTHING! This law will not
turn the cops loose to go into Mexican neighborhoods and round them up to
ship them out just because they’re brown and speak Spanish. That is forbidden.
Please, AP and the rest of the media, freaking read the law!

It’s shocking to see the president of Mexico complaining that the U.S. is trying to detect, detain, and deport Mexicans who have no legal right to live or work in this country.  Mexico assumes that they can send millions of their people to the U.S. for jobs, and leave them there, to send money back home and keep their relatives afloat.

That’s how the government and the rich people in Mexico can avoid any change in their country, can continue to refuse to develop an economy with jobs, with schools, with decent housing and sanitation, with a tax system to tax the rich and help everyone else.

I have a simple solution:  close the border, permanently.  Put guards at every 10 feet, with motion detectors on the surface and underground.  No cars, trucks, trains or pedestrians can cross the border.  Let the drug cartels take their drugs to China, where their couriers will be executed on the spot.  Shut down the border:  no drugs or illegal immigrants headed north, no guns headed south, no more cross-border violence or conflict.  Shut it down.

Anybody who wants to come to the U.S. will have to fly on commercial planes and be subject to full body and luggage searches to keep out the drugs.

Sorry folks, but this makes more sense than the insane policies we are currently pursuing.  Hundreds of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars given to Mexico.  I’ve heard over a billion now spent in Columbia.  All supposedly to keep drugs out of our country.  I’d shut the border, permanently.  Give every addict a prescription and let them take as many drugs as they want, free of charge.  It would be much cheaper than the current policy of our government which, after all, is nothing but corrupt.

We are not trying to “stop” the drug trade.  We are using taxpayer money and selling weapons to help our friends get control of the drug trade, so they can pay enormous kick-backs to U.S. politicians and corporate CEOs.  Wake up folks:  we’re the big losers.

Seal the border.
