Obama Talks Mourdock, Trump on ‘Tonight Show’Posted on Oct 25, 2012
During an appearance on “The Tonight Show” Wednesday night, President Obama touched on, among other things, the ridiculous rape comments made recently by GOP Indiana Senate nominee Richard Mourdock, and Donald Trump’s dud of an October surprise. The president criticized Mourdock for saying that pregnancies resulting from rape are “something God intended.” “I don’t know how these guys come up with these ideas,” he told host Jay Leno. “Rape is rape. It is a crime. These various distinctions about rape don’t make too much sense to me, don’t make any sense to me. ...This is exactly why you don’t want a bunch of politicians, mostly male, making decisions about women’s health-care decisions.” Obama also made fun of Trump, who earlier Wednesday made a “very big” pronouncement via YouTube in which the blowhard billionaire birther offered the president $5 million to give to charity in exchange for releasing his college and passport records. When asked by Leno, “What’s this thing with Trump and you,” Obama responded, “This all dates back to when we were growing up together in Kenya. We had constant run-ins on the soccer field. He wasn’t very good and resented it. When we finally moved to America, I thought it would be over.” Advertisement
