Well, piss on it. The sound goes from inaudible to distortingly
blaring to rock and roll reverberations, almost as if someone did
not want what was said to be understood much less heard.

Well, from this it would appear that Obama’s main point was a plea for the Repubs to leave off ideology and destructive criticism (which is about all they actually have) and join in bi-partisan negotiating over issues that are controversial between the two parties.
  My own opinion is that getting Republicans out of their ideological boxes is largely impossible because their main strategy is based on exploiting the ignorance and fear of their right wing.
  From this it would appear that our main task as intelligent citizens is to work as hard as possible to decrease ignorance and fear.  The day when the mayor of an Appalachian coal town votes in favor of conversion to wind and solar, Obama will have the moxie to stop talking about “clean coal” and we will know we are winning.
