New and Improved Comments

We are launching a major overhaul of our comments section.

In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread.

Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts.

Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with.

Please direct any problems or concerns to us via our contact page.

Everything considered, so far the 99% are way ahead in the current struggles for justice. The State has been forced to show its immoral force when it comes up against the moral force of the people themselves with only their frail bodies to GET UP! STAND UP!
Cracks open up within the Establishment itself,to prove that fair-minded people will refuse to allow injustice even though they may have to sacrifice
job, prestige, reputation, promotion. When this begins to happen, the value and the beauty of moral behavior become crystal clear.

Just so when in the voting booth amnesia doesn’t prevent a vote
for those who support the 99%ers.  The teachers, police, firemen,
gays/lesbians, minorities, women who believe they own their own
bodies, students who would be disenfranchised of their voting
rights, seniors who would lose their voting rights also as well as
their Social Security and Medicare benefits were Republicans to
gain any office, the Middle Income Workers who cannot get jobs
because of all the obstructionism coming from the Right, the
humanists who don’t want the Religious Right to force their
religion on the nation (and the rest of the world as a matter of
fact).  These are some of the important reasons it must never be
forgotten:

The Republican Party is the Party Against the People.

We not forget affordable health care for the millions of
underprivileged, quality education for the nation’s future
generations, the quality of the environment as well as saving
the geography of the nation is also under attack by the Party of
Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Newt.

Thank you Dan,.. for standing up for the 99 percent!
Your actions in yesterday’s removing yourself from the epicenter of Oakland’s fault line of faux pas..will be long remembered in our struggle. Many challenges here in Oakland, many dire needs long neglected, but you have enlightened us with the truth which inspires and guides us to our inner light… with a feeling we know is right.  In peaceful maneuvers and problem-solving, we will continue using our creative energies and innovations in community building.

‘Power of the people is stronger than the people in power.’ We encourage and support you.. courageous truthdiggers—like a beacon in the night…..and though stomped on again,..more committed to the fight.
