Katrina vanden Heuvel, The Nation’s editor and publisher, last night braved a second appearance on “The Colbert Report,” where she was congratulated by Stephen Colbert for her “courage to come back, since I handed you your ass last time.” Watch it here Advertisement New and Improved CommentsIf you have trouble leaving a comment, review this help page. The only flaw in Colbert’s presentation is that he lets “dissenting” guests get in a word edgewise. O’Lielly would never let someone like vanden Heuvel finish a sentence. It’s been a while since I saw him (although Comedy Central is available on cable here—you would not believe how much American programming is used at the other end of the Earth) and the bits with showing HIM as the guest comes on, and blatantly bogarting the ice cream to dis them as they talk, are brilliant.

Colbert is trying to fool us by camouflaging himself as a left wing operative, but he is just another right wing Carl Rove agent.

Katrina and Stephen were brillant. Katrina got off multiple, knockout punches like nobody’s business. Stephen played it as usual—Genius! I have to try Americone Dream.

Katrina, Rosie is correct in that steel beams do not melt under fire out in the open air, never possibly. Hey, this gets psychotic: Were the steel beams upward in a fire of boiler heat, how did beams many stories below that give way on key? Look, damnit, get this into the main media dialogue, and all is then changed. Changed to physical reality. A chicken bone cannot kill a dog and the Earth is not flat.
