Is it unfair to bring up Mel Gibson’s troubles? After all, it’s been more than three years since the superstar allegedly blamed those “fucking Jews” for “all the wars in the world.” Gibson loses it in this interview, saying “I’ve done all the necessary mea culpas.”

No. It’s just a telling statement. Three year olds do the same thing.

As one obviously well versed with what 3 years old do maybe you can share what
other “telling statements”  3 year olds do or say.

Well as the real issue that Gibson was trying to promote has been missed, I actually went to see the Film Edge of Darkness today, and its far better than most of the recycled crap that comes out of Hollywood.

I’d give it an 8 out of 10, and it would have been 9, except some of the dialogue from Gibson and Winstone was a bit mumbled which could have been down to less than excellent sound recording or even the set-up in the cinema.

But it was gripping all the way through, and the final scene was a cinema classic which brought a lump to your throat.

The sad thing about the film is that the content is much closer to the truth than most people realise if the recent comments of 81 year old Peter Dale Scott are to be believed.

There’s nothing in the film for Jews to get upset about, but a lot to be concerned about with regards to the supposed mythical behaviour of the outsourced parts of the US Military Industrial Complex, which if Scott’s analysis is correct is not that mythical.

Hollywood could also learn a thing or two, about how to make a great film. They haven’t done political conspiracy stuff like this since Julia Roberts in The Pelican Brief.

Look forward to the reaction the following will get.

Alan Dershowitz gave a radio interview to Israeli army radio, Galey Tzahal, in
which he launched a full frontal attack on Justice Goldstone.  Here are some
of the interview’s key passages:

D: The Goldstone Report is a defamation written by an evil, evil man.
Goldstone is an evil man.

Is this “free” speech like Mel Gibson’s and/or is it anti=semitic?

No one should mince words about it.  He allowed his Jewishness, the fact that
his name is Goldstone, and that he has connections to Israel–he allowed
himself to be used to give…a heksher, a certification of purity to a defamation.

Galey Tzahal: Do you hint Prof. Dershowitz that he is a moser, someone who
betrays his own people?

D: Absolutely.  There is a prayer that is said every day for people like him: La-
malshinim al t’hi tikvah (“there shall be no hope for the betrayers”).  He is a
man who uses his language, his words against the Jewish people.  I regarded
him as a friend.  I now regard his as an absolute traitor.

That said, if you can be a little more specific about what you mean by my “obvious sexual/conflict” we can dialog about that. Otherwise, I believe personal attacks between posters are counter productive.

Mel has some real issues that go even deeper than his hate speech.  This is fairly apparent to anyone who has worked with people who have or had at one time a substance abuse problem.  I sincerely hope Mel will one day really want to figure out whatever is really bothering him at the core so he can see things for what they really are.  That goes for the rest of all of us too.  Good luck everyone!

Good for Mel, he has demonstrated the need for a free media, one not monopolized by jews.  He just voiced his opinion which many of us (the other 90% of Americans) agree with.

Omop made a good point about Larry David, a talentless hack who chose to defame christianity by urinating on a picture of Jesus. He still has his show, like Sienfeld, its a sure sign the jews in hollywood are out to punish us with terrible programming.  Plots based on nothing where in every episode someone is lying about something and whining when they do it.

Howie Mandel, you have obvious sexual conflicts between your religion/ethnicity and Mel.  You are at the wrong website.

Dear Omop,

He didn’t just say f*ck, as you well know. He clearly stated that the jews were responsible for all the world’s wars. He wasn’t even being confronted by jews at the time. This diatribe, and its odd inappropriateness to the situation revealed Mel Gibson in a way no future apology or denial can undo.

Your comparison to Emanuel is inapt. While his use of ‘f*cking retard’ was unfortunate it was not a suggestion that he disliked special needs persons. I’m a parent of a special needs child. I’ve had to disensitize him to the term since most people who use it do not necessarily do so to insult special needs people. Sure it does, and I don’t condone it, but its not the intent.

I would like to see more sensitivity from Emanuel, but there’s a world of difference between saying something stupid in the heat of the moment and revealing deep truths about your character. If Mel had used a anti-semetic slur to disparage a non-Jew (like “He jewed me down to a lower price”) that would be more akin to what Emanuel did, and a simple apology would suffice. However, Gibson not only revealed that he hated Jews, he explained why.

I don’t anyone here condondes or defends the things you speak of. There is a key difference here though. No one here is using Mel Gibson, who said a lot more that FUCK, to justify anything other than a call to treat each other with decency. Truthdig is not using Mel Gibson’s tirade to justify policies of war crimes or policies that go against fundamental human rights and civil liberties.

Fox, on the other hand, will point to the examples of despicable behavior you cite and use them as a cause celeb to validate a political agenda that cannot be justified. They are used as evidence of an inherrent evil within progressives toward their fellow man, only to be followed by the latest rationalizations of support for appaling acts against humanity.

Nor, mind you, are there any organized hate groups dedicated to destroying disabled children, so its a bit disingenuous to equate and offensive euphemism with what is clearly a deeply held belief expressed by Gibson that parallels many of those organized hate movments.

I promise you. If Rahm Emmanual ever tries to blame the demise of the country and all human suffering on disabled children, Truthdig will reprot it.

Finally, in case none of that broke through, the mere fact that someone like you would make a point to come on here to defend what Mel Gibson said and believes is clear evidence of the desperate need to be reporting it. He has a right to speak his mind and we have a right to do what the German people should have done: shut him down.

Lets see. Mel Gibson uses the word F^&k and is tagged as an anti-semite ( is he
not free in the home of the brave to express hisself? ). Rahm Emmanual used the
same word to denote handicapped children recently. He aplogised and that was

Several months ago a guy named Larry David “urinated” on a photo of Christ
and yet he never was accused of being anti - anything.

Is this report by Truthdig intended to remind its readers that its digging for
truth is tempered by objectivity?

Too bad our media can’t ask tough questions of the President they way they do a movie star.  Maybe we should start sending Hollywood reporters to DC for the Presidential press conferences.

I could care less about what some actor did or said 4 years ago.  But, it would be fun to see the same reportorial enthusiasm directed towards a President.

“Mr. President, I know you’re hear to do publicity for your latest war that’s soon to be released.  But, I’d really like to ask you about what you said during the press conferences for the original Iraq war.  Back then, you kept saying that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and must be stopped.  But we never found those weapons, and thousands of people died and we spent billions of dollars on your war.  Now you are back promoting your latest war, “The Crotch Bombs of Yemen”, but how can we believe what you say during your promotional press conferences?”

A:  You believe what us actors say while we are promoting our latest war?

“...who is pushing for war with Iran, who supported war with Iraq, and had their droogies keep their media mouths shut tight, and who has been largely responsible for the financial mess we are in..that will result in future wars…”

Your anti-Semitic logic fails before it begins. George Bush isn’t Jewish. Dick Cheney isn’t Jewish. Haliburton isn’t Jewish. Perhaps we should recall that those who put them in power were people calling themselves Christians. Christians like Sarh Palin, who trot to chruch every Sunday to speak in tongues and get dewitched.

The same people who allowed their religious views to become entwined with their political and economic views to such an extent they could no longer tell the difference between the three or even tried to. That rabid, mutated ideology was haply used to justify wholesale slaughter and the devalued commodification of human life. No one forced any of these people to foam at the mouth for the disasters they wrought.

No. Instead, the people cheered. They taught their kids to cheer. And they rationalizeed everything they ever cared about away, not in the name of security, but to follow their cult, for only a cult would lay waste to a faultless people to stop torture while cheering its own.

I’m afraid the responsibility is with the neoconservative, neo-fascist leadership who made those decisions—who have made the failure of the State and the usurpation of our democracy their new religion. And, most of all, it lies with the sheeple who elected them. If you have a problem with what’s been going on, stop electing corrupt, incompetent, narcissists to positions of power who allow interests that are counter to the public good to coopt and trump all human decency. In short, you are the jews you’ve been hunting for.

So congratulations. You won. We lost. Our institutions have been watered down and made impotent for years by those who wished only to see them fail. With the national debt so high, the government cannot react and the people are losing confidence in their institutions and leadership. It will prove a moment of vulnerablity that will likely see faith in government as an unbiased regulator an arbiter shift to faith in the market. With the Citizens United decision, all your dreams can come true now: a market free of burdensome government and regulation. A market free of laws and enforcement. So sit back and enjoy your handiwork: the fall of a nation that once had such potential for greatness. A nation who gave up on its democractic ideals in favor of the corporate approach of socializing risk and individualizing prosperity.

Get your sponges, brushes and duckies and prepare to bathe yourselves in the poverty, the debt, the sickness, the crime and the misery—and all that’s coming. All of it. It’s what you’ve been working so hard to achieve.

Mel Gibson has done some great movies, and I rate Apocalypto as one of the very best. Whilst I disliked The Passion of the Christ, because its graphic exploitation of hard core violence and pain highlighting the very worst aspects of religion, it too was a great movie - if you a hardcore religious nutcase.

I know nothing about his latest movie, but presumably he thought he was being interviewed to discuss it, rather than about comments he made 4 years ago. In the circumstances, I think his reaction was totally appropriate.

All these anti-semitic accusations, of any criticisms of Jews and the Apartheid State of Israel, no longer work, and are backfiring with enormous effect. They are provoking the very criticisms, they are trying to censor. The fact of the matter is that Israel is behaving in a most barbaric manner, and Israeli’s and American Jews have far more influence over Foreign Governments than is healthy for anyone - including Israelies.

I would recommend the Film Defamation, made by an Israeli, that explores this issue in detail

Comments Extract

“This movie was great. It exposes the ADL truly as it is, a despicable organization that has to LOOK for antisemitism. Quite embarrassing when the filmmaker went to ADL headquarters asking for anything in the computers about recent anti-Semitism. What was the recent evil hateful outburst of Antisemitism? Workers emails stating that they couldn’t take a day off from work because they were Jewish? Wow…that is real Anti-Semitism isn’t it? Another biggie? A School bus with sleeping Jewish kids was stoned by blacks? Geee had my school bus stoned years back but I had BLACKS in the seats.

This was the recent evils of Anti-Semitism.

The Film does a great job exposing the GUILT the ADL throws upon the gullible public to get their way. Norman Finkelstein did a great job exposing these ADL crazy people even saying equating Hitler with the ADL tactics was a insult to Hitler…..Great comment. This movie is a must see by rational normal people who have seen the tactics of the ADL, obviously Ed Symkus was out for popcorn during most of the movie.

The Jews are no more hated than anybody else that doesn’t act decent and humanely. You act arrogantly like you are the master Race then what do you expect. TRUE JEWS care about practicing their RELIGION, spreading love, forgiveness, kindness not bringing up the Holocaust that happened 60 years ago to use as a battering ram against non-Jews for a guilt trip. The Jews themselves in this video, the NON ADL Jews, admitted that there is NO Anti Semitism.

Great movie for real truth seekers. Most ADL lovers will hate the movie. Real Americans with a conscience will love the movie. Most religious God fearing loving Jews will see through the hypocrisy of the ADL and admit that the ADL CAUSES Anti-Semitism and Abe Foxman should be looking for another job, maybe on Wall Street with a Bernie Madoff wannabe. Last point, you can tell who controls the media when this movie isn’t even around anymore at ANY movie theatres or to purchase. I guess the director did to good a job exposing the ADL.”

Also the comments of an Israeli Gilhad Atzmon

If Groups of people don’t want to be criticised, then they should behave like normal human beings accepting that everyone is entitled to equal human rights and opportunities and not to behave like racist, blood thirsty bigots who are allowed to commit war crimes against humanity and pull out an ant-semitism card to try and defend their actions.

Admittedly the UK & US Governments also commit war crimes, but they don’t attempt to defend themselves under an anti British or anti-American label.

He needs to free himself; join Palin at a rally. Schmoozzz with Chuck Norris, or the tea baggers, go on Pat Robertsons. Be a proud “One/3rd” of Americans that are raging ridiculously. Mel Gibson is one of the most talented people in movies, whether as actor or director (I loved Apocalypto)more importantly in terms of his chosen profession, he’s a star. You can’t teach anyone that- they either have it or they don’t. Think back to some of the things you’ve done and said when you were drunk. I once fell down a flight of stairs after drinking too much champagne at a show in a supper club. Long way down and not recommended. I also threw a glass of red wine in a Scot’s face at a party in a caravan that went sour, the party not the wine (free advice: don’t throw red wine in anyone’s face - but a Scot, never). I recall another party where a Spanish girl started saying ‘Hitler was right about the Jews’ and she and I had a well, very interesting (drunken) conversation in which I can remember screaming ‘Hitler was a bastard’ at the top of my voice. However repugnant I found her views I still think she was allowed to express them. It’s called democracy.

More hate is the last thing we need.  We don’t need it outlawed, we just don’t need it.  I have Jewish friends who claim all the ills in the world are the Arabs’ fault.  I have other friends who claim its all the Jews fault.  Personally, I am an American WASP with predominantly English blood and hoping nobody remembers how blood-thirsty my ancestors were (and sadly, still are).

You can dig up dirt on anyone.  For evidence, just Wikipedia the word “genocide”.  People love to hate and kill.  You’d think after all the centuries of blood-letting, we’d all be sick of it at this point.
