MoveOn.org recently held a virtual town hall giving every Democrat running for president a chance to sound off on the biggest issue of day: the Iraq war. Here are the highlights.

I feel that the only way to improve the worlds opinion of the U.S. is to show them how a Democracy works when it’s leaders ignore the wishes of it’s citizens.
We need to IMPEACH President Bush and Cheney NOW.

Positions on Iraq then and now should not be the focus, except for non-funding of the escalation. War or a military attack on Iran (aggression again!)is likely to be a good test of potential candidates for President. Will democrats once again fall for the Bush-media line? How many countries have N weapons? Why select Iran for the sacrificial goat? Move On sold its soul. Democratic leadership the same. The media presents us with a choice between 2 too conservative candidates. Kucinich is ignored or dealt with unkindly.Robert Davies

It was clear to me, and apparently to those that attended the houseparties showing this “VirtualTownHall”, that John Edwards and Bill Richardson stood head nd shoulders above the others in their answers. I note that Richardson called on Obama, Clinton, Biden, and Dodd to support the Reid-Feingold legislation. I’m still waiting for their answers.

I know all politicians are calculating, conniving, and craven, but even so, there has to be a point at which even politicians are motivated by principles.
If the Democrats had stood up to Bush earlier, maybe things wouldn’t be so utterly bad.
Make no mistake: It isn’t just Iraq. There are so many other horrible things that Bush has done, that even if Iraq had never happened, he would still be the worst president of all time, and the worst human being of the last 50 years.
Any Democrat who contributed in any way to Bush’s reign must be expunged along with Bush himself. He taints everything.
He is that evil.

How can anyone support Clinton or Edwards?
No one who supported the war or Bush in any way should be permitted to run for president. Clinton, Edwards, and all the rest voted to let Bush start his asinine war, and that is unforgivable, now and forever. Everything related to Bush and his criminal stupidity must forever be expunged from the national psyche. All craven politicians who gave into him must pay for that crime for the rest of their miserable lives.

Great candidates! I will support any one of them with enthusiasm in the general election. The ones that don’t get elected to the top spot can still be a part of the government as long as the Democrats win.
Report thisThe reason I have joined Obama’s campaign for the primaries and caucuses is because I think he has the uncanny ability to get the most co-operation out of people. Consequently, I think he will get the most done. He will serve as a catalysts for change at home and abroad. He will be a great leader because he will involve the most people of this country to make the huge changes that need to be done. Everyone is going to be genuinely invited to contribute and be a part of it.
