‘Left, Right & Center’: The (Elusive) Middle-Class AgendaPosted on Jan 6, 2012
Republicans, start your engines. With the Iowa causues in the rear-view mirror and New Hampshire and South Carolina up next, the GOP primary field has pretty much narrowed to Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul. What might the great minds of “Left, Right & Center” think of these presidential wannabes? Tune in and find out as regulars Robert Scheer and Matt Miller are joined by guest panelists Matthew Continetti and Chrystia Freeland for the first broadcast of this election year. Rest in Peace Tony Blankley, I while most of his arguments were undeniably
conservative (and often wrong-headed in my view) he was one of the most
intellectually honest conservatives in the public sphere. Tony was one of the
reasons I, a progressive, listened to LRC. No sound-bite spewing FOX news
talking head, Blankley will be difficult speaker to replace, and I’m sure a great loss
as a member of the LRC family.
Heartfelt Condolences Bob, Matt and Arianna

The least you could have done was to identify the Conservative elitist who said such drivel, sofianitz. Without a middle class we are back to Lord of the Manor, soldiers an serfs at the bottom working at subsistence level. And we are going that way now. The Middle Class is nearly extinct here. And the Lords of their Manors have been very active since 1980 to exterminate it and succeeding.
I guess you, sofianitz, are all for our oligarchs. The ones in the 1% who want the good old days (sic) of Robber Barons. Down with the likes of you, sofianitz.

My condolences to Mr Sheer and the LRC crew:
A great joy for me and others I know has been the modulated and informed debate, highlighted so often by the scholarly, respectful, and informed repartee between Mr Sheer and Mr Blankley. Very often, my liberal heart felt incredible pangs of guilt because Mr Blankley made so much sense and forced me to reconsider things. At other times his discourse sent me into orbit where I already found Mr Sheer awaiting me.
Mr Blankley forced us to think and to consider that those on the Right were not three-eyed monsters, but generous and caring humans, just as we like to see ourselves. I feel a void that will not be filled as I hope that someone else comes along to debate and challenge us with the same level of grace as did Mr Blankley. Peace to his friends and family.

Rest in peace, Tony Blankley. You were one of the most reasonable and well-spoken defenders of the Republican Agenda, with impeccable manners. You will be missed.

Mr. Scheer:
I was so very sorry to read of Tony Blankley’s recent passing. I will greatly miss his
participation on “Left, Right and Center”. He was one of the few Republican
commentators I could actually enjoy hearing debate. With his quick wit and
gentlespiritedness, he helped make “Left, Right and Center” a true pleasure to
listen to for many, many years.

Dear Mr. Scheer,
I think your liberal elitist offspring should be a little more appreciative.

Let us try to attack and destroy this concept whenever we find it, and bring this Goebbels-like propaganda icon to an end forever.
