An emergency economic summit in Europe brought direly needed relief to Greece and neighboring nations, but will it last—and is it enough? Meanwhile, on our side of the planet, a report from Congress showed that the richest 1 percent of Americans more than doubled their share of national income in the last 30 years. This week’s “Left, Right & Center” takes stock of these situations, along with some troubling rumblings from the Obama campaign, and what Rick Perry may be skipping as he charges at the White House.  —KA

New and Improved Comments

We are launching a major overhaul of our comments section.

In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread.

Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts.
