‘Left, Right & Center’: Relief in Europe, Inequality in AmericaPosted on Oct 28, 2011
An emergency economic summit in Europe brought direly needed relief to Greece and neighboring nations, but will it last—and is it enough? Meanwhile, on our side of the planet, a report from Congress showed that the richest 1 percent of Americans more than doubled their share of national income in the last 30 years. This week’s “Left, Right & Center” takes stock of these situations, along with some troubling rumblings from the Obama campaign, and what Rick Perry may be skipping as he charges at the White House. —KA KCRW: Advertisement New and Improved CommentsWe are launching a major overhaul of our comments section. Dear Mr. Host,
I didn’t know if I should say anything, but I’ve made up my mind and I truly believe that your brave centrist rant was just the right dose of centrism that this poor tired and if I may say so myself, guilty, country needs to hear.
You did not understate your point, and you did not overstate it. You hit just the right balance.
You know it. I know it. We the people all know it.
It was as brave a centrist statement as I have ever heard. Perhaps it was even a RADICAL centrist statement.
At any rate, may you sleep better at night.
