Dear Matt Miller,
You should be pleased to know that this, the first time I have listened to your wonderful program, I stepped up my current form of exercise which consists of drinking cheap beer, smoking cigarettes, and staring out the window, but I plan to go back to the gym very soon although I detest cellphones and mp3 players.
What I really wanted to say though was….
What was it???
Nice to hear Tony Blankley again or “General Tony”, as McLaughlin used to call him before he was replaced with the much less charming Monica Crowely (I stopped watching the show a while back).
You did good Mr. Scheer.
Anyway, what I really wanted to say was…
I was living on the east coast in Philly on 9/11 and at least as prevalent as the sense of community and patriotism and ALL THE DAMN FLAGS EVERYWHERE was the hatred.
It was palpable.
The hatred and fear of arabs, and the warmongering and we are going to fuck “them” up the ass and cut their balls off blind dumb vengeance.
It was sickening and it was at least as common and bi-partisan as those stupid little american flag pins. I will never forget it nor will I view that time through rose tinted glasses illuminated by candlelight.
