‘Left, Right & Center’: Is There a Deal in Sight?
Posted on Oct 11, 2013
There’s progress in Washington. Is it all because of polls showing that the public hates the shutdown? Republicans are getting the blame, according to a Wall Street Journal/NBC survey. And a Gallup poll says only 18 percent of Americans are satisfied with the way the nation is being governed. But now, Republican Rep. Paul Ryan proposes a compromise that even Truthdig Editor-in-Chief Robert Scheer loves. And host Matt Miller talks with tea party Republican Rep. Steve King. In other news, Janet Yellen is the first woman to lead the Fed. A New York Times magazine article shows tense times for Dick Cheney and George Bush.
Scheer and Miller are joined on this week’s “Left, Right & Center” by Rich Lowry, editor of National Review.
