This week on Capitol Hill, lawmakers passed a continuing budget resolution and prevented a government shutdown—for now. Also on this edition of “Left, Right & Center,” we have speculation about Newt Gingrich’s bid for White House glory, budget battles in Wisconsin and Ohio, and turmoil in Libya. A spirited discussion ensues among show regulars Matt Miller and Robert Scheer and special guests Jennifer Rubin and Ed Kilgore. Tune in below.  —KA

-We’re back for a special interim edition of
Right, Center Right, and More Right.

NY-Times reports today (article by Scott Shane and
Mark Landler) that:

“Mr. Obama said in a statement he remains committed to closing Guantanamo some day…”

On a clear day you can see Pompano Beach!
What do you think about that, Tony?
Tony? Tony! you’re staring blankly again, Tony!

Well, join us again soon for another
edition of Right, Center Right, and More Right.
Goodnight Arianna, wherever you are.

How DARE Matt Miller imply that Mr. Scheer would “stand by and let the slaughter proceed” (@23:12).

This is the kind of low life scum that has ruined politics in this country.

Has anyone ever seen Rahm Emanuel and Miller in the same room at the same time?

Here’s a clip showing a consistent Robert Scheer from Berkeley 1966 walking the walk that he has talked.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmJwLRGKQDU

Hopefully Mr. Scheer will attack Miller on a future show for this inexcusable misrepresentation. Maybe ask if Miller ever read George Washingtons farewell address. Of course, the sentiments in that fantastic piece seem to be something Miller et al simply cannot understand.

Which is why that type must be unwelcome in any US Government office at any time. And shunned.

Let’s see the right wants to cut any social benefit they can find, keep the wealthy
even more comfortable with tax cuts they don’t need, and lets get the military in
yet another Arab nation.  Never mind joining the military on yet another ill-fated
adventure or even paying more taxes to finance it.  Oh yeah and Matt Miller needs
to refer to his kind of center as being a useful idiot for the rich.

Matt Miller may be the most dangerous voice on the show. Beware of anyone who
defines themselves as the “center” and tries to tell “liberals” how to think about
social security and medicare. Robert Scheer is absolutely spot-on in his analysis.
I’ve seen Matt spouting the same right-wing talking points in his columns and on
TV… he’s full of it, Center-Right at the minimum. This show really is an example
of right wing propaganda vs common sense. Tax corporations and the rich and
watch this “financial crisis” disappear as revenues start to roll into the Federal
Government once again. Instead the thugs want to turn workers against each
other to destroy what little they have left in protection. Now I can feel the rising
jingoism of the right as they start gnashing their teeth for military intervention in
Libya, funny how it matters when it’s a country full of oil. This show is really
starting to suck, it’s like listening to a bunch of political sycophants gang up on
the one reasonable human being in the room (Bob Scheer).

-Arianna?.... Arianna?
—iii…y..es…
-Arianna?
—Yes.
-Arianna, where are you?
—I’m in “the cloud”
-The AOL cloud?
—Yes.
-Well folks, it’s more of Right, Center Right,
and More Right, with all of our regulars except
Tony who is staring blankly somewhere else,
and Arianna who is in the AOL cloud.  She will
pop in from time to time.
-Now let’s all gang up on Bob who says that
Social Security and Medicare are fully funded for 20 to 40 years.
—-That’s right, and let me add…
-I’m sorry Bob our time is limited. Arianna?
—Yes, Well, viewed from the vantage point of the
AOL cloud and my AOL deal, well frankly Scarlett, I don’t give
a damn.
-Thank you Arianna.  Well that’s all the time
we have today for Right, Center Right,
and More Right.
