‘Left, Right & Center’: Airstrikes in Iraq and Obama’s Poor Poll Numbers

The Obama administration has resorted to airstrikes to try to stop the wave of ISIS fighters sweeping Iraq. “Left, Right & Center” panelist Robert Scheer, Truthdig’s editor-in-chief, says of questions about U.S. involvement: “The military solution causes more problems than it solves. …This nation building stuff is madness. The Iraqis should make their own history and defeat [ISIS].”

Meanwhile, the crisis in Israel and Gaza continues, with some prominent left-wing Israelis supporting their government’s actions against Hamas. Panelist Rich Lowry of the National Review praises that stance, and adds that the ongoing global backlash against Israel is another sign that “if Jews die, Hamas wins. And if Palestinians die, Hamas wins.”

Also, host Matt Miller shares his experience of being at school and watching President Nixon resign 40 years ago, and what he learned from a recent Nixon documentary.
