Jon Stewart: ‘The White House Is Fighting Nuns?!’

Posted on Jan 7, 2014

Jon Stewart asks the heavens, why oh why has the White House chosen to attack these kind sisters?

“The Daily Show” is back from its holiday break and as funny as ever with this segment about Catholic nuns battling with the Obama administration about the contraception mandate in the Affordable Care Act.

After some minor confusion as to why the White House was waving the “flag of war” at the “most adorable people in the world” instead of the terrible, murderous nuns found in a compilation of film clips, Jon Stewart realizes the sisters refuse to make any compromises regarding the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive provision since it goes against their religion. They won’t even sign a waiver, claiming it would give their employees permission to purchase birth control in their name. The pundit points out, however, that the paper money they give their workers already can be used for, God forbid, such blasphemous things as contraceptive pills, booze and multicolored clothing.

Watch as Stewart’s rage tumor grows back to its usual size as he grapples with sweet, musical nuns and birth control.
