John Oliver Takes on the ‘Dangerously Misleading’ Dr. Oz and Nutritional Supplement Industry

Posted on Jun 24, 2014

Nutritional supplements, some of which have been found to cause death, go largely unregulated thanks to lobbyists and lawmakers who make sure the FDA has little to no power. What’s worse is many consumers unwittingly fall into panderers’ traps and consume supplements recommended on TV as magic panaceas. However, after watching another of the “Last Week Tonight” host’s characteristic rants (and a laugh-out-loud funny segment starring George R.R. Martin, Steve Buscemi and the Black and Gold Marching Elite) you may think twice about listening to Dr. Oz’s magic prescriptions for losing weight.
