What would-be matriculators at Yale University might think of this lengthy and cringeworthy musical promotional video, cooked up by a group of the Ivy League school’s current undergraduates and recent alumni, is unclear, but we’d like to point out the obvious after enduring a brief run-through of their efforts: Some people have been watching a little too much “Glee.”  —KA

This video is so deep in that it directly touches on the sort of perverted ideology which undergirds our society.  Yale is one of the most exclusive and inaccessible institutions in this nation.  Apart from several cases, most of the students who matriculate at Yale (as well as the other traditional IVY leagues) do so on the basis of their legacy and or high socioeconomic standing. Yet, this video peddles this notion of a truly free market—one that is somehow laden with equal-opportunity “choice”.  This mantra “That’s why I chose Yale” promotes the individualization of our society and suggests to its viewers that Yale is nothing but a commodity which is somehow equally accessible to all in the college-going marketplace.  Needless to say, I think the Goebbel wannabes who produced this video probably can’t see shit from beyond their narrow-minded and elitist position at Yale.
