It Gets Better ... on MTVPosted on Feb 22, 2012
The TV version of Dan Savage’s It Gets Better project premiered Tuesday night, featuring the stories of three LGBT teens. It Gets Better started when Savage, an advice columnist, responded to a rush of teen suicides by posting a video with his husband Terry to encourage bullied kids to hang on. It has since become an international movement with tens of thousands of people, including the president, posting similar videos. Below is the MTV special, followed by Savage’s original message and some other IGB videos. —PZS

yes, sometimes it’s hard to stay positive, but it’s the only way forward. And these video’s are very inspirational. We all can use a dose of optimism from time to time. thanks.

I always thought Matt Stone was the person who came up with “It gets better” in “Bowling For Columbine”.
I guess it was Dan Savage after all. So Kudos to you, and to all who have and will find strength from this endeavor.
Anyhow, Matt Stone said it in so many words (and quite well) right here:

So take that Dan Savage, you former-at-least-supporter-of-the-war-on-terror-one-issue-so-and-so.
I’m still mad about that post 9-11 “Fuck Peace” column you wrote along with all the rest (and South Park could have done better, but all things considered it was a bit more balanced).
And yes I love the gay-lesbian-bi-trans-intersexed-LGBT peoples of all colors, shapes, and sizes all over the universe and wish them only the best unless they turn out to be supporters of the bullshit “war on terror” and such. Arab and African kids are important too.
