Is the History Channel Smearing the Kennedys?

Email this item Email    Print this item Print

Posted on Feb 17, 2010

Is the conservative creator of torture-evangelist “24” really the right person to helm a miniseries about the Kennedys? On the basis of a draft of the script, some scholars say “no.” At right is one of those scholars, Theodore C. Sorensen, an adviser to President John F. Kennedy.

More from The New York Times here and the creators of the video below here.

Tell me—where are you going to run to? —The Republicans?  There is only two parties, how many choices are there?  Therefore, you must be a Republican.

The United States has a Two-Party Institutionalized Political System, what the United States needs is a Parlimentary Political System, similar to England,  so that all factions of the population that choose to be represented, can be represented,  but until the time that the populace gets gutsy enough to demand a Parliamentary Political System institutionalized in United States government,  we, the populace Left, are stuck with the Two-Party Institutionalized Political System that leaves us out, and voting for the corporate elite just will not punish the opposing party when the opposing party is infested with corporate elite.

The only way to get change is for the populace to realize their position in democracy and quit passively abdicating their paramount, key and indispensable populace position to the corporate elite as a supposed punishment of the opposing party, while passively giving up our blood bought democracy, thinking somehow a noninstitutionalized political party or some individual person will save democracy, when it isn’t possible for an outside party or one man to do the job of the populace.

The populace must move en masse and take over the Democratic Party for the populace and not allow the Republicans to take over the Democratic Party through their faux populace Tea Party.

On capitolism creating wealth.
The U.S. is by far the world’s largest debtor
nation, the citizens rights , health care, wages,
education while enjoying a couple good decades
is in a downward spiral, spinning at this point
out of control in a tail spin bound to crash harder
than what we already are feeling.
You have not seen me on any post defend any one
economic system, especially 20th century communism.
You know very well this country’s economic crisis,
that individuals, local gov, state govs, and fed
govs are all living in debt, so to say that capitolism has created wealth in this country is
either disingenuous, or trying to spark the debate.

Cute, but Wall St has made more people wealthy than communism has. Wall St is in the business of creating wealth. Communism is in the business of creating poverty. How many millionaires (outside the nomenclatura) were there in Russia prior to 1991? How many are there today? How many cars were sold in China prior to 1990? Today China is the largest car market in the world. Communism? Don’t think so.

Israel is not communist. Yes they have kibbutzim, communes, if you will, but please. They have a parliamentary socialist democracy. They have a stock market. They have private property.

“It could well be argued that the WALL STREET family is a form of communism unto itself.” Well, I suppose it could, but only by delusionals. Wall Street is the purest form of capitalism. No argument.

“Cuba is doing more to actually help Haiti than the United States.  Go figure.” ARE YOU SERIOUS??? How many hospital beds has Cuba delivered? How much food has Cuba delivered? The US sent 1000 hospital beds on ONE ship. Cuba sent doctors. What did the Cubans bring with them? A change of underwear? How much medicine did they send? All they have is doctors. No medicine, no medical supplies.

Capitalism is, by any measure, far superior to communism at creating wealth, material and spiritual well-being and individual freedom. It’s not about imperialism or hegemony or big militaries.

One just has to read a little of HENRY WALLACE’S

Another should be noted about John Kennedy,

However I do remember a bill being passed into law

Oh how true, how sadly true.

The military blockade was in response to Russian nukes. There never was an economic blockade- ask any Canadian or European tourist, or the Russians up to 1991 for that matter.

Cuba is a failure on its own dime. The US is nearly alone in the world in its economic “embargo”. Two hundred other countries on the planet could not prevent Castro from running the place into the ground.

Liberals glorify the Kennedys way too much. Forget the sex, JFK and RFK waged a brutal terrorist war against Cuba, provoked the Missile Crisis, started the secret bombings which began the Vietnam War, laid the groundwork for a fascist military coup in Brazil, supported the brutal Duvalier dictatorship in Haiti and initiated the counterinsurgency doctrine in Latin America now being applied in the Middle East. Seriously people, the Kennedys have done enough to screw their own image, they don’t need right-wingers on the History Channel.

All of our media is and always has been to the Right of center, and as CIA Director William Colby famously noted to the Church Committee, “We own everyone of significance in the major media”, in refering to their assets there.  That so many believe the Rightwing propaganda that it is a Liberal media is a testimony to the effectiveness of this very one-sided presentation of all our information on the public’s airways and in the equally one-sided print media.
For a revealing expose on what happened to ABC, read James DiEugenio’s commentary in his media section of his website at CTKA.net.  Read also the other related information to learn about just how insidious this propaganda is, even into our alternative media.  Speak truth to power.
