Macklemore Fights Homophobia With ‘Same Love’ at Grammys

Posted on Jan 28, 2014

Queen Latifah introduced Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Mary Lambert and Madonna who together all performed the song “Same Love” live at the Grammys on Sunday. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ hit, the only political rap/pop song of the night, helped remind people of the religious, rap and societal homophobia that occurs every day. During the performance, Queen Latifah presided over the weddings of 33 gay and straight couples. It was a refreshing breather to hear a moral and political message back in mainstream music.
