GOP Senator: ‘Video Games Are a Bigger Problem Than Guns’Posted on Jan 30, 2013
In an interview on MSNBC ahead of the Senate’s hearing on gun safety Wednesday, Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., responded to a question by Chuck Todd on background checks for gun buyers by changing the subject to ... video games. “Can you envision a way of supporting the universal background checks bill?” Todd asked. “Chuck, I’m going to wait and see on all of these bills. I think video games is [sic] a bigger problem than guns, because video games affect people,” Alexander answered. “But the First Amendment limits what we can do about video games, and the Second Amendment to the Constitution limits what we can do about guns.”
