GOP Candidate: War on Women Leads to ‘More Liberties’

Mia Love, a small town Utah mayor and congressional candidate considered a rising star among Republicans, has put forth what could possibly be categorized as the strangest defense yet of the GOP’s so-called war on women by claiming that the party’s policies give women more freedom. Because when someone or some organization tells you it is restricting your access to something, the mythical light bulb in your head obviously tells you that it’s being done to provide you with more liberty! The GOP is not trying to control our bodies at all with its strict stance on abortion (the concept of pro-choice does not apply in this case, evidently) and its attempts to restrict birth control access for women (to unslutify us, as Rush Limbaugh—who knows all about these matters because he hosts a radio show, and people who are given radio shows know everything of course—might say.)

Ladies, take a page from Mia Love. She’s telling you that your gut instinct that Republicans are trying to clamp down on your freedom of choice is wrong. Or misguided. Or misunderstood. But take heart fellow females, because Love is ready to show us a new way of thinking (which is, yes, as absurd and ridiculous and nonsensical as it sounds).
