Glenn Beck Plans to Build Libertarian Commune Inspired by Ayn RandPosted on Jan 13, 2013
Glenn Beck and his delusions of grandeur were on full display last week, as the conservative media figure completed his wholehearted embrace of Ayn Rand’s philosophy by announcing he would build a $2 billion utopian community somewhere in Texas. A nod to “Galt’s Gulch” from “Atlas Shrugged” indeed. It’s unclear just where in the Lone Star State the community will be located, nor does he say how it will deal with “details” like local, state and federal laws. But as the Dallas Observer succinctly states: “We’re sure Beck will come up with those answers. Anyways, it’s best not to think too hard about it.”
And, because it’s Glenn Beck, no announcement would be complete without some over-the-top, insanity-laced rant that will probably just leave your head spinning.
