Not a Sparkling Day for NewtPosted on May 18, 2011
GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich started his week on the wrong foot with ill-advised TV tirades and a huge Tiffany tab, but the glitter on the cake came Tuesday when a gay rights advocate dumped a bag of the stuff on Gingrich and his wife, Callista. They were signing books at an event in Minneapolis when the culprit struck, saying, “Feel the rainbow, Newt. Stop the hate. Stop anti-gay politics. It’s dividing our country and it’s not fixing our economy.” Gingrich’s joking response: “It’s nice to live in a free country.” —KDG AP via YouTube: Advertisement Previous item: Stewart Schools O'Reilly on Common Next item: Bill Moyers: 'We're Almost Out of Time' New and Improved CommentsWe are launching a major overhaul of our comments section. “I fail to see how this was an effective tactic. “
People who saw this will look into the protester’s claim. If it is grounded in truth, they may cast their vote in another direction. I’d say that is very affective.
Notice how the protester was deliberately SHOVED through the doorway by one of the apples that fell from Gingrich’s tree. You can hear it in his voice.

Newt will simply state that glitter-making companies are part of a “European Socialist” conspiracy to destroy our “American way of life.”
