‘Democracy Now’: OWS Day of Action Special

We just couldn’t choose from among the array of clips our friends at “Democracy Now!” sent along from Friday’s special broadcast about the OWS Day of Action activities around the country Thursday. So, we figured we’d just post the whole thing.

This way, you’ll see the segments on the OWS movement at its official two-month mark, plus a word from hip-hop impresario Russell Simmons—a 1 percenter who’s lending his voice to the 99 percent—and you won’t miss the bit about the SEIU demonstration on the Brooklyn Bridge, which led to the arrest of the union’s president and other leaders as they rallied for job creation. And that’s not all. Settle in for a big dose of quality programming.  —KA

Young G,

Finally you’re speaking out against the violence you so ardently insisted was not actually taking place. It’s good to see you coming along.

Occupying Wall Street, I believe, completely misses the point. Little to no change will be in our future by ‘Occupying’ streets and parks. Neither will change come by wearing a “I was arrested” badge of honor.

Peter Orzag, the last OMB Director, moved immediately to Occupying CitiBank.

Occupy Congress!

Pancho is awesome.

I was arrested that night surrounded by 17 pastors and reverends.  Pancho was on the other side of the park meditating, but we were unified in spirit.

Nonviolent.
Peaceful.
But uncompromisingly through with business
as usual.

Democracy Now! Is a great source for real news.
Can’t believe how good it is, brings back my hippie days, all good.
Watch it and watch out.

The conservative solution to OWS: arm them.  I mean, Fox News, Sharron Angle and Sarah Palin don’t think camping is a respectable or effective way to change your government - their way is to threaten violent Second Amendment remedies.
