Democracy Now!

In May 2010, Anastasio Hernandez-Rojas, a 32-year-old Mexican immigrant, was handcuffed, hogtied, kicked, beaten and tased five times before he died in the custody of U.S. Border Patrol officers, who justified their actions by claiming he resisted arrest. New eyewitness video says otherwise.

The footage aired nationally last Friday as part of a joint investigation by the PBS program “Need to Know” and The Nation Institute’s Investigative Fund.

Below, Amy Goodman speaks with PBS reporter John Carlos Frey; Maria Puga, Hernandez-Rojas’ widow, and Humberto Navarrete, a former National Guardsman and eyewitness to the beating. —ARK

Big news over here, actions like this happen every day in the occupied terrirories of the West bank and Gaza and you really have to look for the articles in the foreign press.

Once airlines treated their passengers with respect, now its feet back and spread’m.  Stewardesses were charming now if you ask them what is taking so long a threat of arrest is the answer.

Its no wonder this is the evolution of the American ‘welcome wagon’.

He is one of thousands killed in cold blood under very similar circumstance by the US Border Patrol.

Some have even been shot and killed from El Paso, TX, when they were actually on the Mexican side of the border in Ciudad Juarez.
