‘Daily Show’: Progressives Are Out to Get Us AllPosted on Mar 19, 2010
Now we’ve heard it directly from Glenn Beck’s mouth: “I am not a journalist—I am a conservative. I am much more of a libertarian.” Nowhere in there is the word progressive included. Shudder to think! Because as we all know, the path from progressivism leads straight to China. —KA

I disagree that progressive policies lead to fascism. Unlike conservatives, it appears that progressives are against corporate takeover of the USA government. It seems that progressives in general do not want “big government” so much as a government that works for the citizenry best interests, rather than the corporations’ best interests. Since Glenn Beck is against campaign finance reform and seems very well content with corporate takeover of the USA government, he should not complain when the consequences of such a decision rears its head.
I often wonder why the concept “social justice” is something to be paranoid about. After all, social justice is a necessary part of a civilized society. Since Glenn Beck is against social justice, ummmm… does he advocate anarchy? That’s fine if he does; but, if so Glenn should say so because I have the impression that Glenn advocates anarchy. Just because the Nazis and the Bolsheviks had their particular versions of social justice, does not mean that social justice is something to be absent from a given society. Again, social justice is a necessary part of civilization.
I can’t believe that Glenn Beck needs this explained
Report thisto him. On second thought - Yeah! I do believe it.
Honestly, I think Glenn should see a shrink as soon as possible. He needs help.

I have read some of the post stating that people think of Glenn Beck as visionary. Maybe I am not understanding the politics of the US, but wouldn’t any sane person hear this guy and say that he is certifiably insane. Jon Stewart’s parody of Beck was comic genius, but I have to agree with the poster, Misfiteye, that it a little scary and troubling that so many people are ignorant. What is happening to the United States of America?

I live in rural Wisconsin and I am sorry to say that we are surrounded by people who think Glen Beck is a visionary. I work with people who voted for Bush twice and would again if given the chance. They believe Obama is bankrupting the country and Big-Gov wants to take over everything.
You can laugh at ignorance till your sides ache and it won’t go away. In the end, it’s not that funny.

This was by far the funniest 10 minutes of television we’ve ever watched in our lives - it was brilliant. And Pacrat, be afraid - we live in a small town in Oklahoma and are surrounded by people that LOVE Glenn Beck. I think we’ll be moving soon. Keep it up, Jon!

Another Emmy for Jon Stewart - best performance of an insane Beck!
Beck is only to laugh at - not to be taken seriously by anyone - conservatives, republicans, tea baggers, conservative republicans (note the distinction) or anyone else who has escaped reality!
So why not laugh at him?

I wonder what the late Bill Buckley would think of Glenn Beck and his ilk.
