Barack Obama talked big, back in his campaigning days, about doing things a little differently from Bush II were he to succeed W. in the White House. Many of these changes had to do with how he planned to wield executive power. So how’s that plan working for you now, President Obama? Jon Stewart is paying attention, at any rate.

For a while it looked like Pres Obama was permitting the democratic majority in congress regain the power that came with winning the House and Senate - but, no, he spent far more time courting republicans than he did his own party. Granted that the democrats in Congress don’t seem to know how to use power - however, isn’t it time for the president to concentrate on whipping the democrats into line - and encouraging them to participate in governing by writing and passing good laws?

The president can’t seem to lead, and he can’t even follow good leads.

Not that Obama’s line is much different than Bush’s. The rhetoric seems more intelligent and the words are bigger, but the policies are very much the same.

The pretence of transparency, the promise of change - just words! Oh, the people are supposed to do the work?? - then why did we elect a new president? and a new Congress?

hello. anyone can claim they are a Republicant. Mr. Ellis, this whole redistribution is very communal, but i do not want from anyone what i can not get for myself. i agree the value system is out of whack, and flagrant greed is stylish. trends are transitional, and we are at the farthest end of a spectrum swing we have ever had the pleasure to hang on to: and it takes impetus to swing it back. keep resisting, so change does not move you; and may angels clear your path.

Once again Stewart refuses to say anything harsh against those evil democrats. Oh well.

Lets get another nitwit Republican into office. I hear that George’s brother Neil may be available.

So John Ellis at 10:53am,
are you saying that “resistance is futile”?

Look people, the “Anointed One” makes his chess move’s and us babbling humans need to realize that the unbelieving conspiracy “heathen” understate the issues when they say that Obama is a radical. Alas, they know not the secrets we are all going to witness. The “Anointed One” is amazing, he takes the people at the highly efficient Post Office and sends them right over to the Student Loan Program. The “Anointed One” knows all. Twitter messages were machine-gunned to cell phones at mach speed. Facebook and MySpace groups spread across the Internet like digital fire. YouTube videos featuring celebrities ricocheted across the globe and into college students’ in-boxes with devastating regularity. All the while, the Obama mega-money-raising engine whirred on at high speed, until the result became inevitable: an unthinking mass of young voters marched forward to elect the “Anointed One.”
I am not surprised to hear these stinking lies about our “Anointed One,” it should be apparent to anyone that this was coming down the pike. I do have a couple questions about future process steps concerning these developments? When the “Annointed One” decides to start bar-coding everyone, will we get to decide if the mark is on our hand or forehead? Allot of people will prefer the hand, (especially women of course), unless your a porn actress or something along those lines. Also, my girlfriend was wondering if the Administration will be getting fashion advice from Hollyweird or the New York City crowd? We are both agree that the Administration “Maoies” as the “Anointed One ” so lovingly calls them, will be getting uniforms similar to the SS uniforms in Germany in WW2. With big letters abreviating “Barack’s Socialists.” So shall we start calling them the BS?

Comedy Central, maybe you need to grow some “apples” since all they seem to be able to do is cower in fear. YOUR A DISGRACE to our armed forces who put lives on the line every day in Iraq, Afganistan, and everywhere else. YOUR A DISGRACE TO AMERICA. Not only is this a shameful act by Comedy Central, but they were intimidated by this despicable, anti-American radical behavior. I knew Jon Stewart was a Barry Hussen Soetoro supporter but I had no idea that he would sell out when the going got tough. What a coward. Will Comedy Central’s ratings go in the toilet? For the brave, yes. The comedy act that I can’t wait to see is how Comedy Central is going to be able to find satire in this cowardly act?

It just hit me, I know what kind of television comedy / reality show that could become #1, let’s have Jon Stewert interview Barry Barak Hussen Soetoro Obama, Karzai, Karza’s brother, and the Taliban while their picking the poppys in the fields for the heroin that they ship to America. What do ya think people? Since Jon and Comedy Central have proven that nothing is sacred for satire and that they will even give in to the threat by a group of radical muslims (like the press likes to call them) or just “the un-named” (like Barry “the Anointed One” likes to call them) or toilet paper (like Americans over the ages of twelve like to call them), it could be a hit. Hollyweird would go wild. One additional thought, to make it hit #1 internationally over the globe, let’s have the United Nations thrown in to be interviewed. Well, come to think of it, maybe that’s not such a good idea, if the U.N. is involved, they will steal everything and then say the the US took it.

Also Kerryrose, it is frustration,

This is a very important subject that needs to be
discussed in a very urgent manner. You see how many
posts there are here, yet that article of Hedges,
that he is trying to portray an abstract thought as he
always does but isn’t pertinent to the urgent problems
facing our country gets cult like attention.

in other words, it is my belief that Hedges has been
gimmicking.

Well, Stewart has plenty of talent no doubt.

I have been emailing the Daily Show for a month
now pleading with them to be more balanced.
I sure don’t mind them bashing tea bag leaders,
but there sure is enough blame on the Dems too
that they have been ignoring for a good while

These things NEED to be said.
But, did anyone truly believe Obama was going to singlehandedly turn this
country around? It is up to the people - so, after seeing that Daily Show episode I
am sure that a majority of the viewers committed to “being the change” they want
to see happen. Right?
