‘Daily Show’: Losing Barney Frank

Not so fast, Fox News Nation. Although Congressman Barney Frank’s announcement that he would not seek re-election in 2012 has sparked glee in the GOP, Jon Stewart notes in this “Daily Show” clip that Frank has been the all-in-one target for all things reviled by conservatives: “He’s your everything bagel.” Who will take his place? Stewart has one good candidate, at least.  —KA

EmileZ—always enjoy your musical input.
My favorites were some of the jazz/blues tunes you posted for Halloween.
My appreciation of guys like Zappa and Capn’ Beefheart is limited by the fact I’m not a musician myself.
From listening to others who love Zappa, it sounds like much of their adolation comes from his envelope-pushing creativity and establishment-wretching lyrics, is that how you see it?
I’ll see a local musician friend of mine next week.
Will ask him more about why he loves Zappa.

Now, if I might inquire about your avatar?
Looks familiar, should I know it?
I’ve tried, but can’t place it—like Pablo Picasso meets MC Escher.
Am I warm?

EmileZ, no accounting for musical taste.
Yet, we’re more likely to find common ground there than on political matters.
I like this—maybe a better match.  Mostly instrumental.

or maybe this: mainstream old school instrumental

@ oddsox

I can niether confirm nor deny rumors about Maxine Waters husbands doings.

As I said before, I give her credit for what she has said, which is a whole lot more better and certainly runs contrary to the official U.S. postition that Haiti’s elections must be controlled by organizations such as the Organization Of American States (which is apparently at prestent difficult to look up for me).

Anyway look up Aristide on Democracy Now.

I think we have a definate diversion or something of the sort along the lines of musical tastes.

In short, I find yours absolutely atrocious…

@Outraged, thanks for sharing the article on Frank Luntz.  Luntz is a tactician and if you take offense at his methods, you may find an equal measure of comfort by reading “Rules for Radicals” by Saul Alinsky.

—-

EmileZ:  Waters’ Haitian connections are long and deep.  And possibly corrupt.  Part of her blocked House ethics probe would have investigated OneUnited Bank and rumored money laundering deals involving them, Haitian banks and past President Jean-Bertrand Aristide.

..meanwhile, EmileZ, here’s another tune for you—(very un-gym-like…)

That was actually kind of funny in a queasy sort of way.

I guess I just have trouble “letting go”.

I freeze up whenever I hear applause.

But seriously folks…

I just wanted to say that (“but seriously folks”).

Anyhow…

Maxine Waters has said some good things.

Especially about Haiti.

And for that I give her credit.

Another example of the right wing smear machine at
work, it’s still lying…... it’s just a more
insidious form of it. Frank Luntz:

”– Empathize With The 99 Percent Protesters: Luntz
instructed attendees to tell protesters that they
“get it”: “First off, here are three words for you
all: ‘I get it.’ … ‘I get that you’re. I get that
you’ve seen inequality. I get that you want to fix
the system.”

This is how they operate, there’s more….check it
out:

Re: oddsox

Your comment: ” all Right-wing smears?
Don’t believe ANY of it?”

None of it. I don’t believe ANYTHING, NADA,
NIL….ZERO of anything that comes from the right
wing smear crowd.

As I’ve said, when a legitimate source/authority
leads me to question someone’s actions. I do. OTOH,
ANYTHING that comes from the right wing, I do not
believe because THEY ARE LIARS. Period.

@Outraged, all Right-wing smears?
Don’t believe ANY of it?
There’s a whole lot of smoke you’re not seeing…

Google
“Chris Dodd Countrywide”
or
“Maxine Waters OneUnited Bank”

and take your pick of non-rightwing newssources.

As discussed on the Dionne comments, you won’t see liberal sympathizers writing commentary or posting CSPAN clips of Barney Frank defending Franklin Raines and Fannie Mae.
So the clips you see of Frank on YouTube are posted by the Right, but they’re largely unedited and don’t look like they’re taken out of context.

And it all smells pretty bad and raises a lot of questions…

@Outraged, for the sake of political comedy, yes, Maxine Waters for House Financial Services Committee Chairman.

While Franklin Raines was pillaging Fannie Mae, Maxine Waters, along with Barney Frank and Gregory Meeks, was his staunchest defender.

LOL.  Maxine Waters…. yep, they’re going to be
begging for Barney Frank because she’ll make them
“walk the plank”...... I love it.

Another quote from Ms. Waters.
”“I have a right to my anger, and I don’t want
anybody telling me I shouldn’t be, that it’s not nice
to be, and that something’s wrong with me because I
get angry.”

Yep. Fox News should be careful what they wish for.
LMAO and praying please God make sure Ms. Waters gets
that position.
