Conan O’Brien’s Inner MonologuePosted on May 5, 2010
Those of you who watched the sort-of-enlightening “60 Minutes” episode last weekend in which Conan O’Brien carefully cha-cha’d around the issue of Jay Leno’s late-night hijacking of his “Tonight Show” gig might find this “Funny or Die” spoof, well, funny. Or even those of you who didn’t! Conan’s contractually motivated attempts at being inscrutable were somewhat in vain, judging by the seeming accuracy of the “FoD” team’s interpretation of this media event. —KA Funny or Die: Conan O’Brien’s 60 Minutes Inner Monologue - watch more funny videos

Conan is quite funny in hiding his feelings. Conan is not believable. Conan is also not a ‘victim’ given his severance package. In these times $100 is a huge amount of money, so the soap opera between the joke-meisters does not wrench at me excessively.
But he is quite funny in his outrage.

Question:
What did Conan O’Brien (or any of his late night talk protagonists) do to deserve more than a passing comment or two .... not to mention the millions of dollars Conan The Librarian got paid ?
There must be an after-life - a heaven where people are all held in equal esteem (or contempt) because the inequities applied in the current life are surely overwhelming. Sports figures, politicians, Wall Street types, corporate CEOs and their ilk are all over-paid and deserve no more attention than a bum passing gas in a wind tunnel.

This man is joke - so many people have lost their jobs in this economy, and not because they wanted somebody else’s. He was given a severance of 30+ million dollars, how many have gotten just a small fraction of that.
Report thisDude get over yourself, you tell jokes for a living.

Conan O’Brien is of no more or less consequence than any other person who has recently lost his/her job.In fact, because his job was relatively meaningless his dismissal is also. If all the talk show hosts in the world disappeared tomorrow they would be replaced in a heartbeat and if they were not people would talk to each other without them. Now, if all the plumbers and carpenters or all the electricians and surgeons and teachers and cooks and sanitation workers disappeared tomorrow there could be some serious consequences for all of us. I think Conan needs to grow up and get over it. He could try getting a job and doing something real. It would get his mind off his imaginary troubles.
