Conan Burns NBC’s Millions in RevengePosted on Jan 21, 2010
Until they shut him down, “Tonight Show” host Conan O’Brien is free to spend NBC’s millions doing things like dressing up the world’s most expensive car as a mouse and giving it a Rolling Stones theme song. This may be a bit unseemly in the middle of an economic meltdown, but as revenge goes, it’s pretty sweet. —PZS NBC isn’t too thrilled with this, so if they yank the above clip, you can watch it here as a backup. They even caught on to this on youtube, where the comment sections are full of people saying, “horseshit”. And it is, any large organization has very strict controls on purchases. It’s ridiculous to think that any money guy anywhere is going to sign off on that kind of crap. He’d get fired.
And it’s better than that, all of it, all the jibs, jabs and gibes were scripted. Agreed upon. Nothing goes on the TV unless it’s been signed off on. Nothing. Millions are at stake, careers.

RE: “borrowed car and an ASCAP fee.” - there isn’t even an ASCAP for this - NBC
has a blanket license - calling it a spin of the “original master” (which no way
would get out of the vault for something this stupid) just enhances the stick,
which is damned clever
as for being too outre for the depression - maybe he’ll move on to really cutting

hello. i am too old to understand anyone being paid that much money. i am sure were i there, i would not hesitate going after it. to all the people going through college whom will never see that amount of money, and the vast majority making up the general working population - i salute you for what you give to this country. entertainers, or mouthpieces, or whatever they view themselves as every morning in the mirror: deserve less than what they get. when the economy is so bad, and this amount of money does not go directly into creating thousands of jobs: something is burning in the oven.

Conan is spending NBC’s millions with their blessing. Just think of what all of this is doing to Connan’s (and NBC’s) ratings. I feel certain both are laughing all the way to the bank.

This is the high ticket version of a golden shower.
NBC (General Electric) is paying lots of cash to be pissed on and I’m lovin’ it.
Best of all, people are being paid to produce it.
Jobs jobs jobs, who can be against that?

I thought it was the funniest bit he’s ever done. Of course, I’ve never found him to be all that funny. Still, I’ve had a few bosses I would enjoy trashing on t.v.

I’m glad his show is well past my bedtime.
Sounds like I’m not really missing much.

He milked it for a 30 million dollar goodbye in silk purse out of the NBC Pigs’ ear!
Report thisIs that obscene or what? Who really wants to research anything that Conan did or
did not do? Go for it those who have nothing better to do.

Attack of Conan The Librarian or Conan The Contrarian
or TV Tempest In A Virtual Teapot.
Conan must have been a terrific writer on SNL at one point .... he has now milked that reputation WAY beyond his actual entertainment value.
We need to go back and re-view those old SNL episodes to see if ANY of his humor was EVER worth the trouble. His late night “comedy” has never measured up. (And he DOES have weird hair.)

Am I the only one who finds it TERRIFYING to have it repeatedly demonstrated how easily the attention of the “average American” is diverted? You’d think the entire nation suffers from ADD!
I’m with Ray Duray. If TruthDig continues to yellow-down its journalism with this kind of trivia, I’m outta here.

Dear Robert Scheer,
It is time for you to take your son aside and inform him that:
1) Conan O’Brien isn’t interesting, let alone funny
and
2) You are going to ruin this website if you continue to pile on this wretched, pointless content.
Just sayin’, Ray Duray

You can write it off as a lame comedy stunt that didn’t really happen.
Except for the part where Conan is truly pissed off enough to do something like this. And the part where they had to edit this bit off of Hulu & the NBC internet broadcasts, because, as Conan said, they could not afford the rights to air it officially. Only a matter of time before it’s off YouTube unless Google is ready to pony up as well.
LOL. I haven’t seen Conan this pissed since that idiot kid from Holes was so very rude on his show.

I thought this was a truth site??? The car was borrowed from a local dealership and was just reported this way to further the joke and stir up people who will think like the author of this article and say “This may be a bit unseemly in the middle of an economic meltdown.”
Was thinking of beginning to view this site but obviously not now….a truth site where an easy to uncover falsity is on the front page on my first visit…haha good luck and keep on diggin’ up that truth!

I would think twice before hiring as future employee one who trashes his current as much.
He is not the only employee who has moved across the country (for a lot less money) and once there after a couple months - sorry we have to let you go.
So stop being so full of yourself. In business if you do not produce to the expectations of your employer you are out.

Bully for you, Conan, you deserve it! Take the money and run! Have a good time (at least until September) and don’t give your critics any thought at all. And come September, give serious thought to doing something…serious (with SOME humor, of course…) A show that fell somewhere between Jon Stewart and Bill Maher might be nice…
