‘Colbert Report’: Stephen Gets His Super PAC

If Sarah Palin can have her own PAC, so can Stephen Colbert. After all, they’re both fake news generators, right? On Thursday, Colbert celebrated the official launch of his Super PAC—which, TPM Muckraker points out, goes by another funny name—in his usual modest style, assembling a crowd of admirers and reminding them, “I do not accept the status quo ... but I do accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.” That’s some democracy right there.  —KA

If Steve can finance a Super PAC on his salary, what would Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs, Craig Vinter, and yes , even Ted Turner, be able to do with their $$$billions. Powerful men who have had a late-in-life change of heart and developed a case of conscious may see fit to form their own Super PACs.  Look what happened when Andrew Carnegie and the Rockefeller Family got the fear of God in them.  Corporate American , beware. There may be a New Day a-coming, and a whirlwind to reap, and they ain’t yours.
