Sure, Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein once crowed that his firm was “doing God’s work,” but, as Stephen Colbert points out here, Blankfein never actually specified which God he was talking about. Perhaps it was Hades, Greek god of the underworld. Given the state of the Greek economy, that may not be too much of a stretch.  —KA

P.I.G.S. fits if they wallow in mud and root in the earth are now starving. Shouldn’t the EU be collectively helping in order to balance out the problem? Wasn’t that the basic idea of the EU in the first place? Except of most everyone in this club cheated then they can’t and it will all fall down.

Actually I would think Mammon would fit better with Goldman Sachs (of shit) in their means to profit as they destroy countries without guns or bombs. Wow, the other part of the Disaster Capitalist actions. In the end people will suffer and die too as if they were attacked.

Follow the money then who will profit from this? That is the final question to be answered.

From an ancient Greek’s perspective, yes, Blankfein is absolutely doing the work of Hades. Hades was not only the God of the Underworld and the dead, but just as importantly was the God of wealth. The Greeks never spoke his name out of fear. Instead, they called him PLOUTON, which means wealth. Because gold, silver, diamonds, etc.  essentially ALL riches come from within the earth itself, the domain of Hades. From the point of view of Greek religion, Hades would be considered the patron God of Blankfein.
