‘Colbert Report’: Contraception CrusadePosted on Feb 15, 2012
Being a Catholic himself, Stephen Colbert is able to break down for the layperson (read: godless liberal) the Vatican’s stance on contraception, which recently became a hot-button (read: wedge) issue for Campaign 2012. It goes a little like this: First, as Colbert mentions in this clip from Tuesday night’s episode of “The Colbert Report,” the kind of sex the church condones—between married straights—“is the mystical union of two people inspired to create new physical life.” Fine, nothing new there. Also, it’s a “divine and ineffably beautiful three-way.” Wait, what? It gets more colorful from there, but we’ll let Colbert explain the rest in this video, as this is a classy family publication. —KA

Perfect. He definitely covered all the “controversy”....lol.
I say, “according to MY religion” I find the unpatriotic $2.9 BILLION in taxpayer dollars “the church” receives sacrilegious, not only spiritually and by moral conviction, but also as an inextricable web of deceit regarding the separation of church and state.
Why should taxpayer dollars fund religious organizations who are UNDER INVESTIGATION for felonious behavior and collusion including protecting clergy by “relocating” them outside of jurisdictions to evade authorities?
Noticeably, they seem to relish American laws that their lawyers can subvert to chastise victims while allowing them to maintain their power AND MONEY…... consciences be damned!
NYT:
“However, if the archdiocese has its way in court, as many as 95 percent of the claims could be dismissed. The archdiocese has filed motions asking the bankruptcy judge to throw out the claims of those whose cases are beyond the statute of limitations, or who already have settlements from the archdiocese or whose alleged abuse was at the hands of a layman or laywoman working for the church, not a cleric, said Jerry Topczewski, a spokesman for the Milwaukee archdiocese.
The archdiocese will also ask the judge to bar any claims involving priests who were members of religious orders. Although those priests may have been working in parishes that are part of the archdiocese, the archdiocese contends that they were not technically employees.
Mr. Topczewski said: “Our parishes are separately incorporated, always have been, and someone who’s a layperson employed by X-Y-Z parish is not an employee of the archdiocese. A judge is going to have to make the interpretation.”

Consider the fact that they are claiming in this instance that they are “incorporated” (isn’t that a business entity?) and that “laypersons” are NOT employees of the “archdiocese”, which apparently is meant to denote that they are not of the “church”, but rather of their business entity. Yet…. now they are claiming this supposed “conscience” matter for their “laypeople” regarding contraception.
Liars, scammers and felons is what they are. Even in this it is impossible to not recognize how their flip-flopping is so “Romneyesque” or “Frothing Butt Stuff”...... Surprising? oh yeah, I’m “shocked”.
