‘Colbert Report’: Cain ’Splains

Herman Cain might reframe the sexual harassment problem haunting him from his past as not so much a witch hunt as proof that he’s a real contender for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. After all, as Stephen Colbert observes in this “Colbert Report” clip from Tuesday’s show, nobody’s even bothering to dig into Jon Huntsman’s present.

Plus, Cain may be the accused party, but he’s also the party that gets to say what he wants to the media, and that’s just what he did on Monday’s episode of Greta Van Susteren’s Fox News show. Luckily, Colbert is here to help us make sense of it all.  —KA

New and Improved Comments

We are launching a major overhaul of our comments section.

In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread.

Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts.
