Climate Change Deniers Freeze Al Gore in Effigy

Some climate change deniers have schlepped a frozen sculpture of Al Gore to Alaska to prove that, science be damned, global warming can’t possibly be happening because “it still gets cold” in the arctic state.  —PZS

You will find that when they have a good line they will not discard it no matter how many times it is proven wrong. Just like in Creationism or anything else that is ideological to them. They understand that most of their audience is clueless and they have an advantage of that and the domination of the airwaves.

I was at another political site trying to enlighten a climate change denier when
another one defended him by saying that one of the natural contributing factors
to the climate change was lunar magnetism.  I quickly pointed him to a website
that pointed out that the moon does not have magnetic field.  He could have
easily looked this up for himself via a 10 second Google search.

It amazes me to no end the crap you can feed so many people and the will just
eat it up.  They require no proof, they ask for no references, they make no
attempt at confirming anything for themselves.  Very disturbing.

No matter what the science or the truth, we can be certain of one thing:  those in control will shift the burden and the costs (alleged or otherwise) to the society at large.  In other words, costs will be socialized while profits are privatized, same as ever.

Most of the deniers, who are also rich enough to heavily promote denial in order to increase the number of deniers, are energy companies with huge amounts of money to spend on propaganda and counter-science.  Why?  Because they don’t want to change energy sources. Petrolelum, coal, gas and nuclear are more than good enough for them, and pollution be damned.
The majority of the rest of the deniers are likely to be people who don’t have enough education to understand the science behind the issue and are consequently relying on religious ideas about the world, who “created” it, and how “arrogant” science is to deny the “ancient truths” etc. etc. Irony:  They believe in a man-made Creator though they can’t see him/her/it.  But they won’t believe in man-made warming till they see it with their own eyes.  And even then maybe not.  Why ?  Because it’s too big!  Too complicated! Too scarey! Some of them are even venial enough to mix it in with Armageddon and say if it happens it’s God’s will anyway and there’s no need to do anything. Easy out?

You know what is interesting in all this climate change debacle? Both parties, the deniers and the environmentalists base their beliefs on the scientific facts and documented history of the scientific rsearch. So, whom to believe? Do you personally know who is right? Because I don’t. The only thing I see that the climate is changing and that Europe is buried ander snow again and it doesn’t look like warming.

Regardless of what “most of the people” believe (if they think about it all), Global warming is happening.  Ice bergs are shrinking and the Polar Ice cap is receding.  Those rich and powerful better get reinvested to profiteer an approach to fixing the greenhouse effect or we’ll never be able earn them their trillions in the future.

Stating the obvious:
Most of the deniers of Global Warming don’t want to think.
They don’t want to think about the future.
They don’t want to think about change.
They don’t want to think about danger
They don’t want to think about science.
They don’t want to think about cutting
back on their use of electricity and petroleum
  products.
America has a big problem with people who don’t
  want to think.

See the Pew Poll:

http://people-press.org/report/556/global-warming

99% of Americans rely on “experts” to determine their opinion on global climate change. Consequently, they choose an “expert” that panders to their own best interests.

I’m a huge Lovelock supporter, but Locklock is vilified by both sides of the debate because he dismisses the practical impact of feel-good alternative energy and supports stop-gap nuclear generation.

How many of those that support the concept of anthropogenic climate change have invested the time and energy to read several books, including books that deny anthropogenic climate change?

It is the mindful deniers that are the most danger because most of the people do not know enough to question what they say if it “sounds right” to them. We see it in the numbers—-the deniers are winning via public relations!

I really want to know, why are the deniers so fixated on the public relations fantasy
that Global Warming is BS? Who exactly does Global Warming profit? Why? What’s
the big dirty scheme guys?

Well okay, some rich bubble blowing finance guys on Wall Street might if they pass
some kind of crap and trade - which in my opinion is just another Ponzi scheme in
the making. Actually, the whole global economy is the ultimate Ponzi scheme! Just
think about it. Our economy is based on the rate we extract useful natural
resources, process them, consume them and deposit them as toxic waste in our air
water and soil. The faster we convert useful resources to toxic garbage the richer
we are!

I can only assume that the mindless deniers just like to throw in their sewage at
every occasion. “Now it’s time to add the flour to our cake mix. While you’re stirring
the flour in remember that Global Warming is not real. Next comes the sugar…”
