An as-yet-unidentified member of Jerry Brown’s camp has created quite a PR snafu for the California gubernatorial hopeful by calling Brown’s rival, former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, a “whore” during a conversation that wasn’t intended to be recorded. Oops.  —KA

Kurt Vonnegut predicted the rise of the “public
relations” society and with it the demise of open,
honest dialogue.  Nothing is more entertaining than a
session of Great Britain’s Parliament, where
discussions are no holds barred and brutally witty.
The idea that no matter what a politician thinks of
someone, he should not say it reminds me of that
children’s fable, “The Emperor Has No Clothes.”

I’m not a politician, so I’ll say it:  “Meg Whitman
is a WHORE!”

The Brown Staffer Should Publicly Apologize and Resign
Brown does not need idiots like this in his organization. It would end the controversy, remove the problem from the Brown campaign and force the idiot to take personal responsibility for the statement.

It does not matter if it is Brown’s best aid, best friend or best campaign donor’s best friend… remove him. He obviously is not the best political strategist… now is he.

Amateur Gaff
It does not matter what Whitman is or what you think Whitman is… you don’t say it.

Definition of WHORE (from http://www.merriam-webster.com)

1: a woman who engages in sexual acts for money :
prostitute; also : a promiscuous or immoral woman
2: a male who engages in sexual acts for money
3: a venal or unscrupulous person

Looks like the Brown staffer’s description of Meg
Whitman fits squarely within definition #3, so why
apologize?

Actually, I should correct myself.

99% of all politicians are pimps, professionally taking money from clients to arrange for them to fuck America.

Tobysgirl, In my opinion they are all politicians.

The staffer would likely get appointed to some political position if Brown is elected.

No, not the politician, an “as-yet-unidentified member of Jerry Brown’s camp.” My husband got this wrong, too, and so has most of the American public, I would imagine.

How many of us would like to have our conversations made public? Hmmm?
