Arianna Huffington
Crooks and Liars

Arianna Huffington issues an appeal for calm in the face of election season fear-mongering: “Remember FDR.  ‘The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.’  And, of course, those who use it for their own political purposes.”

You say Huffington is a “foolish old hag”.  I don’t personally know her so I will not make that statement. However, by identifying oneself as “I like Rove” tells me a great deal about your dumb ass.  See, Rove has stuck it up you stupid ass just as far as he has the rest of the country with his sociopathic bullshit.  If you like Rove, your a bigger fool than Huffington and have the judgment of a gnat. He has done more to tear this country apart and suck our liberties away than Mao, Hitler, or Stalin ever aspired too.  The thing about it is. He revels in the destruction he has fostered. So, go ahead and like Rove.  He probably doesn’t even know you but if he saw any personal benefit from destroying you even though you “like Rove” he would not hesitate to do it, and would take pleasure in doing it in the most degrading and painful manner he could. The Christian lunatic right has just learned this first hand.  He took their money and their votes and then talked about them like a bunch of idiots.  Well… maybe he was right in that case.
I hope Truthdig will post this.

Arianna is a smart, logical, and concise person whom I’ve come to respect over the years as a political commentator. I really can’t think of much that she has said in recent times that I don’t identify with in some way or another. I also listen to KCRW’s left, right, and center quite often (as I live abroad, this podcast is one of my main links to US politics) and I wish she were there more often (instead of on book tours) since otherwise it is left, right, and right, with Bob Scheer recently having to handle the onslaught of two right-wingers by himself.

I haven’t seen much video of her, but now that I have, I must say she is very attractive physically (as well as mentally), hardly an “old hag” as a previous commentator on this page suggests (and certainly not “confused”). I’m a younger man, but I’d be thrilled to take her out on a date in Paris, my present dwelling.
