Taiwanese satire machine NMA World Edition has cranked out another timely animated play on a story making headlines over here in the U.S., and once again, we end up looking pretty silly. Surprise!

This time, the topic is the controversial airport body scanners making air travel that much more awesome in the States.  —KA

New and Improved Comments

We are launching a major overhaul of our comments section.

In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread.

Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts.

Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with.

Please direct any problems or concerns to us via our contact page.

I agree, the loss of personal freedoms has been recent and now, very personal.

I remember once upon a time when trust was enough and customers were respected.

It’s not surprising how far we have fallen, for it was inevitable, it is shocking however how fast it happened.

A great parody not far from the truth.

This latest governmental harrassment on our persons will backfire.

Instant background checks, photo I.D.s and cutting edge identity checks be damned.  A stranger with a badge has to touch you or see through your clothes.

How far our society has fallen.

what to do? wear a light-weight chain mail ornaments under your shirt that spell
out derisive condemnation of Homeland’s phony Global War of Terror - once while
being questioned (for no reason at all), I joked with a TSA gatekeeper that if there
were a WMD incident to look first for its author in the cave beneath the Naval
Observatory - she laughed in agreement
