‘Daily Show’: Cold Busted, Sean HannityPosted on Nov 11, 2009
“The Daily Show” has one eagle-eyed research team, judging by its consistent practice of catching the colorful pundits of Fox News in their most fact-challenged moments. Take this latest Fox pas, courtesy of Sean Hannity’s show, which Jon Stewart pointed out on his own show Tuesday night. According to The Wrap’s Dylan Stableford, Hannity is apparently planning to respond Wednesday to Stewart’s segment. Those who don’t wish to boost Hannity’s ratings can probably expect to hear about it on Thursday’s “Daily Show.” This is all so meta. —KA The Daily Show:

yan,
Report thisThat’s deadpan comedy, right? Sort of a nihilist, cynic shtick delivered Woody Allen style? Because otherwise you’d sound like one of these braindead Fox zombies who aren’t happy unless they’ve found a rich man’s ass to kiss.

I also filed a complaint with the FCC. Thanks for that link. It’s important not to just have a good laugh, but to do something about it.

It is terrifyingly scary when the ONLY ones actually challenging the cooked, falsified propaganda on Faux Noise are Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, with an occasional nod to Keith Olberman.
The so-called legitimate MSM have been TERRIFIED of Fox since the Murdoch network successfully reframed the 2000 election so that the loser became President.

Go Stewart!!! He was always my news source during the W Adm! Remember when W brought the T-giving Turkey to the troops and the Daily Show reported it as ALL PLASTIC???

Well I guess I have to agree with you,Yan.
“hannity speaks the truth”.... well, now and then.
“he fights for freedom and the constitution”.... well
what’s left to fight for after he vehemently defended
the Patriot Act and immunity for telecoms and
torture.
“he wasnt trying to mislead the public”.... yes it
was only the pet mouse in his pocket that he was
trying to deceive.
“he’s an honorable man”... yes, with that
doctorate…. er master’s…. er bachelor’s…. er
high school degree in broadcast journalism. Also
used to mix some very honorable drinks in Cali as a
bartender.
“more than the socialist in chief”.... yes, just like

Yan, how can you say that after watching that clip? It’s Misleading The Public 101! And, yes, Hannity himself may have not edited that clip, or even approved it, but the point is that his show (maybe the whole network) is run that way. He might be “fighting for freedom and the constitution”, but it’s still wrong to misrepresent things in that way. If freedom and the constitution are good and right, than they should stand on their own without any messy lying, etc. Right?
And, to be fair here, keep in mind that this sort of wacky editing happens on every news network. as soon as one “edits” the news, one misrepresents “reality”.
my pet peeve with cable news is the excessive use of Hollywood-style synthesizer soundtracks. why would anyone need a dramatic soundtrack to the news? WHY? this is clearly misleading the public and couching their stories in a certain mood/tone.
and we all lap it up.

How then do you explain the incident? It would seem to be far from truth and blatant misrepresentation.

If you are as outraged about this as I am, I strongly encourage you to file a complaint to the FCC here:
http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
The appropriate Complaint Type is “Broadcast (TV and Radio), Cable, and Satellite Issues” and the Complaint Category is “Unauthorized, unfair, biased, illegal broadcasts” (the form states that this includes “Biased or distorted news stories by the media”). The original show aired on Fox News at 9:00 pm Eastern on November 5th 2009.
We have an avenue to correct this type of falsification and to make change we must make a complaint.

Like I said, the tea partier, conservative people really are propagandized as they believe that Fox News is really news. I rest my case.
