Who knew that California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger ate smiley faces for breakfast? State Assemblyman Tom Ammiano may have an inkling that this is the case after provoking the governor—Stephen Colbert’s Alpha Dog of the Week—to the point where Schwarzenegger, or someone in his office, embedded an expletive in an official document. —KA

Their is a great line recited by Marlon Brando in the movie “Apocalypse Now Redux”. The line being that the military forbade the messages placed on bombs, to be dropped on Vietnamese civilians, could not say “fuck” because it, fuck, was obscene.

All I can think is that if it isn’t simply a coincidence, it must have taken some time and effort to craft it.

“an expletive in an official document”

Oh….my….gawd! The world is going to hell in a handbasket. What if a child saw that word? Society is near crumbling!

I don’t suppose an American notices much anymore when a “bad” word is bleeped or blacked out. It’s been happening for so long you’ve gotten used to it.

I hope it doesn’t come as too much of a shock to know that the rest of the world is snickering behind your backs at such adolescent behavior. Everybody KNOWS what word or words were bleeped… especially the children… so what in hell are you trying to protect?

The really stunningly hypocritical action occurs frequently when, on a TV program for example, the “bad” word is bleeped, followed immediately by some goon dragging out his .45 and blowing someone’s brains out in full, slo-mo Technicolor. There’s something VERY strange about a people who can’t stand to hear a “bad” word but have no problems whatever watching almost non-stop MURDER on their TVs. VERY strange.
