Glenn Beck Goes to War

Email this item Email    Print this item Print
Posted on Oct 12, 2009

Fox News personalities are so sensitive. After White House Communications Director Anita Dunn said that “we don’t need to pretend that this is the way that legitimate news organizations behave,” Glenn Beck grabbed his toys and declared war.

Dunn told The New York Times, “We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent.”

Beck jumped on that phrase, making a mental leap to the war in Afghanistan.

We’re pretty sure Dunn meant political opponent, a role Fox News has worked hard to play, but apparently Beck took it as a threat to bomb his wedding party.  —PS

Organized sophist propaganda is far different than an individuals right to free speech to express opposing views.

I am all for an individuals right to free speech to express opposing views, but it is my sincere opinion that the organized use of sophism and propaganda in service to hate and strife to serve minority political interests against the best interest of the nation, by rabble-rousing disingenuous rhetoric should be REGULATED.

The question is whether or not PUBLIC AIRWAVES should be used for organized sophist propaganda that is against the best interest of the PUBLIC, and the United States as a whole;  I say NO, and that if the FOX Network chooses to use the PUBLIC AIRWAVES to disseminate rhetoric of sophism and propaganda that is contrary to the PUBLIC INTEREST, that their license to broadcast should be revoked.

Fox News is an organized infestation of sophist propagandists and Glen Beck is just one in the herd of sophist propagandists in the Right-Wing Conservative EXTREMIST Echo-Chamber; these sophist propagandists are the “enemy within” the United States that are advocating for Right-Wing Conservative EXTREMISM in service to minority interests and against MAJORITY interests of 90% of the population of the United States.

If you are of either the 70% MAJORITY Common Population of the United States or the 20% minority population of the Professional Middle Class, the Right-Wing Conservative EXTREMISTS and their sophist propagandists, like Glen Beck, are advocating against your best interests and should be repudiated and rejected for the HATE MONGERS and DESTRUCTIVE DISSEMBLERS that they are.

Fox News is the ENEMY.

Wrong

Faux News are petty ante shills, tasked to stir up hatred from so-called progressives
against so-called conservatives and visa versa, and then countered by similarly tasked light-weight lefties
like Mark Green and Arianna Huffington.

Our common enemy is The Global Finance Oligarchy - not even the banker class gets an
audience with them - flunkies tasked with carrying their water - folks, these are
personages out of everyone’s league - they’d fire Trump for farting without getting
permission first, and wouldn’t you pay to see that?

They’d buy and sell Faux News on a whim or a dare, but what would be the point - the
punters in the trenches down there do what they’re told, when they’re told, just like the Air
America crew - one day the duping of America will be painfully obvious to everyone.

“On what year did the the KKK change it’s name to the National Rifle Association?
Was Wayne La Pierre an original Grand Knight or was it his father ? Is Genn Beck really his son?”

~~~
The NRA was chartered in New York on November 17, 1871, by Union veterans.
The first Klan was founded in 1865 by Tennessee veterans of the Confederate Army.
NRA was formed to provide soldiers proper training in the use of fire arms. KKK was formed to provide cover for people looking for an opportunity to commit hate crimes. Angry white men who lost the Civil war, but chose to blame the black man instead of the white land barons who started that war.
The KKK lives on in the dreams of people who fantasize about violence.
The NRA lives on to promote profit for the manufacturers of guns.
So from backgrounds similar only in that they were both formed by Veterans, we have today two completely different results.
Well not quite ... they both use dumbness to promote a cause that benefits the few at the expense of the many. The Klan mentality to promote hate, and the gun mentality to promote profit. Although sometimes when you hear the rhetoric coming out of the various heads it’s hard to tell the difference.
Speaking of dumbness, and hard to tell the difference, lets not blame Becks ancestors for his disease. Obviously the guy is in serious need of medical care.
There now, everything you never wanted to know about KKK and NRA. smile
the village idiot said: The FCC must better regulate these caricature shows masquerading as news.
Beck’s opinion/commentary show is never advertised as news, he often warns that it is not news.
So maybe now you have learned something.
But if you are stupid enough to think Glenn Beck is the news you probably think that Truthdig is news too.
Truthdig is also an opinion/commentary show. maybe you have learned two things now.  That isnt a big deal and not worth fighting over.
But the stupidest thing of all is to whistle for the FCC to regulate opinions. Against this I must protest, and against this I will fight tooth and nail, for it isnt just the stupid opinion of the village idiot, it asks the government to intervene, which would result in my/your/ and even the village idiot(GW=MCHammered)‘s freedom to disagree with the government.
Censorship anyone?
Do you think opposing views and attempting to expose lies/corruption in this administration is a bad thing?
Or if you really believe Obama and the Democrats are so angelic that we shouldnt question them, think of it this way…. they will not be in power forever. Any method that the government uses to squelch conservatives now will be turned against you Leftists later.  How can anyone on the Left be so dense as to not realize this?
So I say no thanks to FCC ‘regulating’ opinion and commentary. Not now. Not ever.
Some of the posts here have already expressed that the best way to deal with Beck is to ignore him if you dont like him. Thats fine.
Please join me in saying “NO!” to censorship.
I would have to disagree. The Left did ignore the windbags like Limbaugh throughout the 90’s. His tirades went unanswered. Soon after, we saw the birth of FoxNews and the Republicans take control of the Congress. Still, the Left failed to answer its critics. Next came GW, and the Left continuec to give networks like Fox the same legitimacy as every other news outlet. They went to intimidate every person, and even rival networks, in the run up to the IRaq war. Finally, the Left (or at least the closest thing we have to a “left”) began to answer and within a few years were able to retake The Congress and the presidency.
To ignore it when mainstream media figures and networks who so blatantly ditort is to grant a de facto legitimization of their rhetoric—a rhetoric that now inspires people to show up at rallies armed to the teeth and to convince even my mother that the president, and by default the Left, is out to euthanize her.
They do not. But, on-air personalities and their handlers (ranging from unwitting useful fools to wholly owned useful tools) drive the Left/Right Media Circus to which you refer - obviously integral to the overarching psyop, designed to literally turn the citizenry against one another and away from their common enemy: The Global Finance Oligarchy.
it cannot be emphasized enough - 2 things to never forget:
1. “Deception is a state of mind and the mind of the state.” - James Jesus Angelton - Director of CIA Counter Intelligence (1954-74)
Fox News and Glenn Beck have declared war on our government. Some say that would be treason. Obviously, we have the first amendment, but Fox News and Beck supporters need to be honest with themselves - they need to answer this question: Did Fox News and/or Glenn Beck ever promote and/or organize any anti-government protests prior to Obama being elected? Now, explain how that is fair and balanced, or why that should play any role in a so-called “news” organization.
By standards laid down by Fox itself during the run-up to the war in Iraq, they should declare themselves officialy “anti-American” for criticizing their president in a time of war. Personally, I’m still waiting for the rallies at the local Tractor Supply Company, where we can burn all manner of Fox paraphernalia. What’s good for the Dixie Chics is good for Fox, isn’t it?
How about this little gem—a FoxNews classic!
From: Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting
http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=2706
“On August 26, 2003, Hume conjured up a bizarre mathematical formula to show that U.S. casualties were not a big deal:
‘Two hundred seventy-seven U.S. soldiers have now died in Iraq, which means that statistically speaking U.S. soldiers have less of a chance of dying from all causes in Iraq than citizens have of being murdered in California, which is roughly the same geographical size. The most recent statistics indicate California has more than 2,300 homicides each year, which means about 6.6 murders each day. Meanwhile, U.S. troops have been in Iraq for 160 days, which means they’re incurring about 1.7 deaths, including illness and accidents each day.’
Hume’s geographic comparison was meaningless, since the total population of California is far greater than the number of U.S. troops in Iraq—approximately 240 times greater. If Californians were being killed at the same rate that Hume cited for U.S. soldiers, there would be more than 400 murders per day, not six. When Washington Post reporter Howard Kurtz (9/8/03) asked Hume about that, Hume said: ‘Admittedly it was a crude comparison, but it was illustrative of something.’”
What this article doesn’t mention is that since Fox is comparing the geographical sizes of California to Iraq, they should also have included the death rate of the total Iraqi population to California’s instead of just US military. But that wouldn’t have the desired impact would it?
How’s that for supporting the troops! No danger whatsoever. Where’s my ‘Fox and Friends’ mug when I need it?
Rhetoric can go both ways you know.
I hereby declare that Fox News and all its local afficilates have NO legitimacy to broadcast “news” or call themselves “news” sources.  In fact, as the teabaggers did to Obama, I challenge Fox and affiliates to prove beyond doubt that they have FCC licenses to broadcast ANYthing other than old movies.  I refuse all on-screen images of their license as proof, since the “birthers” won’t accept any such images of the President’s birth certificate.  I am pretty certain that I could use MS Paint to bogus up a phony FCC license for them as some joker did to the Pres - and I thereby could show that Fox is licensed in Kenya or Outer Slobbovia.
    The fact is that Fox and the RNC and the Teabaggers and their ilk and their miserable candidates LOST the last election.  Now they not only refuse to accept the losses and just get ready for the next election, but they also have started launching everything from hilarious made-up charges to ridiculous conspiracy theories.
    I watched an old Humphrey Bogart movie the other day - it depicted New York gangsters unraveling a Nazi plot to blow up a battleship in the harbor.  The term Humphrey’s character applied to the efforts of the Nazi sympathizers was sedition.
  If Fox wants to overturn the results of our last national election, maybe they should look up what sedition means ..... along with the penalties for sedition.
Iran
Iraq
Pakistan
Afghanitstan
the Taliban
Al-Queda
Venuzala
North Korea
China
Healthcare
the Economy (its the economy stupid)
Immigration
TAXES
Global Warming (sorry, Climate Change now)
Cap & Tax…opps mean Trade
oh, and walking on water
Sorry about any typos but this is no spelling bee.
No one is preventing Fox News (to be polite) from broadcasting, so your basic premise “divorcedmale” is as truthful as a Glenn Beck monologue.
Given that Murdoch’s channel has been all-anti-Obama all-the-time since January (even to the point of having to “make stuff up” and thereby disrespect the American soldiers, according to Sarah Palin), I think the White House has been more than patient with the Fox Entertainment channel.
By the way, “could have been” frozen out by George W. Bush?
Fox News is also an organization that has officially, in court, stated that they are willing to distort and falsify the “news” as they see fit.
“The court did not dispute the heart of Akre’s claim, that Fox pressured her to broadcast a false story to protect the broadcaster from having to defend the tr GENMuth in court, as well as suffer the ire of irate advertisers. Fox argued from the first, and failed on three separate occasions, in front of three different judges, to have the case tossed out on the grounds there is no hard, fast, and written rule against deliberate distortion of the news.
The attorneys for Fox, owned by media baron Rupert Murdoch, argued the First Amendment gives broadcasters the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on the public airwaves.”
I think CNN should do a fact check on Beck’s presentations over the past month. Van Jones, ACORN and now video of Obama at SEIU meetings. Who is Jeff Jones and the Apollp Alliance? Why is this group writting the health care. Why did it write a large pert of the stimulus package? Just a simple question. Lets open all this up.
Since they had time to fact check a Saturday Night Live skit I would think they would want to disapporve the stories Beck is tellling.
Of course they may not want to look to closely at ACORN, the apollo alliance or the tides foundation.
Or the connections to Bill Ayers.
I think his work is pretty good. I see were now the NY times has appointed a person to watch fox news since they missed the Van Jones and ACORN stories.
Even better is the MSM, Tom Brokaw as a guest on Meet the Press, Labor Day Weekend when questioned about Van Jones suddenly resigning in the middle of the night, responded I don’t have time to vett all these on-line stories. This was after Van Jones had held two spearate news confereces the preceding week apologizing for calling Republicans A holes and then for not knowing he was signing a truther petition after 9-11. One has to wonder what the Law Degree from Yale did for them
Better yet Charlie Gibson of ABC news when questione about the ACORN scandel on an interview in WLS in Chicago said Gee I had not heard about this before.
You know where this leads? How much did the President know and when did he know it?
Watching the MSM trying to cover up for wonder boy is better than reality TV.
Divorcedmale:
You first mistake is in calling in lumping Fox News into the category of “press.” When my own mother believes, because FOXNEWS told her, that the government is subtly trying to euthanize the elderly, I can’t understand why people don’t have a problem with their fire-in-a-crowded-theater method of informing the public. People are showing up at presidential rallies armed to the teeth now because the they’ve been convinced that the “commies are taking over.”
Second, many people that I knew are now dead and Foxnews was the primary medium that was used to convince the American public to go to war on false pretenses. They have gone after innocent people, people that I know personally, and smeared them to the point that they and their families have recieve death threats. Not once were they ever interested in getting at the “truth.” Only in creating controversy that benefits that absolute craziest fringe of the Republican party.
Foxnews is free to opinionize their reporting. The white does not have to give them the time of day though, not should they. After all, wasn’t it fox that continues to insinuate the president is 1) not the president, 2) not Chrisitian, 3) Not American, 4) a Terrorist.
They can continue to broadcast their lies and propaganda, but we (and that includes the president) are bound by no law which requires us to legitimize such a mockery of First Amendment.
President Obama has not been able to make a decision on what to do with the war in Afghanistan. Yet, he has been able to to find the time to declare war on Fox News. It does not matter whether one is from the Left or the Right when it comes to politics if one is a United States of America citizen this should concern it should concern you. One of the bedrock principles that our founding fathers fought for was freedom of the press. For a White House to attack any part of the press and freeze them out should outrage and shock every citizen. Now it is Fox News. Who is next? If it happens with one it can happen with another network, newspaper or talk show. Think of the networks that could have been frozen out by George Bush if he had decided to not speak with any network not favorably reporting on his agenda. Yes, CNN and others can attempt to use this to increase their ratings but what is at risk here is much more than ratings! What is at risk is the Principle of Freedom of the Press. Will we allow the King of Washington to reverse what our founding fathers fought for against the King of England?
