National Review Columnist: Women’s Suffrage Bad for Conservatism, SocietyPosted on Oct 7, 2009
Conservatives seek to preserve old-timey traditions and values when it comes to many social issues, but National Review columnist John Derbyshire apparently wants to set women back at least 100 years with his curious statement, teased out by progressive radio host Thom Hartmann, that women’s suffrage isn’t good for the country. —KA Editor’s note: The phone connection on this interview isn’t optimal, but the Think Progress link below takes you to a partial transcript of Derbyshire’s chat with Hartmann. Perhaps he’d like to go back to the time when the Brits kept the Chinese down with opium also?
What a doof.

The problem with this man’s reason is that history has shown that men having complete control over women was a bust. Men frequently used their responsibiites to torment and abuse. The only antidote known for this type of abuse is to see that woman have and continue to have complete social & legal responsibility with men.
Look very close at men who still try to control every breath the women take and you will see a bunch of failures in so many ways.

Republicans should be more inclusive. In the list of folks who go to the polls
and hurt conservatives and republicans, should be added:
College educated,
Upper middle class,
Catholics,
Jews,
Hispanics,
Blacks,
and
Those with post graduate degrees.
To that pesky 19th amendment allowing women to vote, should be added other
troublesome amendments, like the abolition of slavery (maybe each black
person’s ballot should count only 3/5 of a vote! a reasonable compromise, but
- no- not ideologically pure—scratch that.)
And, oh, yes, public education: conservatism and the repubs certainly are
disadvantaged at the polls, when more Americans are educated - good idea to
keep beggaring the schools. And Catholics and Jews, yes, conservatives and
republicans are correct in working to make Protestant fundamentalism the
country’s true religion - perhaps, reverting to religious membership as a pre-
requisite for any office (the Church on C Street is an example of how this might
work).
Thanks to the National Review, I now see how the Conservatives’ and
Report thisRepublicans’ agenda is entirely consistent with their ‘political philosophy’ - and
to think, i once considered them to be hypocrits.

Mary, you forgot to make him wear high heels to do all the house cleaning, child rearing and all the other things women were stuck with like washing clothes on a washboard and hand them on a clothesline as dryers were not as invented yet, grow, harvest and preserve all food needed for survival, spinning wool-thread and weave it into fabric which they can then cut out and sew all clothing needed by hand for the entire family, tend to the family livestock, be the main baby factory, kiss the male’s ass etc, etc, etc…Take women back 100 years, off with his head! both of them.

Cut off this man’s penis and testicles. Give him a cocktail dress with spaghetti straps and a bra and take away his vote. Judging by the photograph, he doesn’t look so much like a man but a pair of wire cutters.
