Moore and Hannity Debate ‘Capitalism,’ Terrorism, Conspiracy TheoriesPosted on Oct 7, 2009
In the left corner, we have filmmaker Michael Moore, taking his anti-capitalism roadshow to ... Fox News. On the right, we have anchorman Sean Hannity, eager to repeatedly point out how much money Moore makes. But does Hannity believe in conspiracy theories? This does get lively, this discussion from Hannity’s Tuesday night show. —KA Part 1: Part 2: Previous item: 'Daily Show': The Gay After Tomorrow Next item: National Review Columnist: Women's Suffrage Bad for Conservatism, Society Elsewhere: . Once Capitalism had defeated Communism, it turned its attentions to the other great enemy of “Freedom”, Democracy. Capitalism is now the State Religion. To criticize it is heresy. Its priesthood and Conquistadors come running with swords and torches the minute any of its practices are questioned. Hannity is just the shining Knight of Castle Exxon, Castle Kraft, etc. We live in a Medieval landscape of aristocratic corporate families whose power is described by an economic system of religious proportions demanding unswerving faith and total compliance. And we serfs thought we’d made a little progress…

Hannity and his ilk live in a binary world of ones and zeros - yes or no - on or off - black and white - capitalism or socialism. He lacks all recognition of grays or maybes or fractions. The real world by default is a swirling slurry of partial “isms” - pendulums don’t just sway back and forth, they move in constantly changing ellipses.
Report thisBack in 600 B.C. the Greeks tried out pure democracy. There were no careers for talking heads like Sean or Glenn or Rush.
To be sure, it didn’t last; but imagine the fun they had for a little while !!

Hannity takes the false dichotomy tactic to new heights. It’s not as if Moore
wouldn’t/couldn’t be wealthy in a social democracy. Soviet totalitarianism, or
Cuban dictatorship are not the only alternatives to capitalism.
Hannity’s attempt to shift the blame for the mortgage meltdown on home buyers
is so impossibly ill-informed and/or illogical, that it can only make sense as
sinister cronyism.
Unfortunately, Moore goes from stutters to guffaws as Hannity slimes, squirms,
secretes, and slips away always at the moment Moore is about to get his hooks
into him.
Yawn…

Then Diman (aptly self named) you will be lost since most of humanity [6.7 billion] are godists. You short changed yourself. Limiting yourself limits you. I am an Atheist but I listen since Moore is getting to Hannity on his terms. Worth watching for those who wish to know more than yourself.
Millions listens or watches Hannity and those so much like him. Don’t think he isn’t important just because you don’t. So it works well when Moore covers those subjects in a way different from the usual blame the poor of Fox.
The reich wingers have their own mental construction of what their enemies are and when they actually meet one they are confused. Their parallel organizations reinforce each other in their false creations of their perceived enemies. When they get in power and use the military/police it could be a blood bath. That must never happen. I don’t wish to be hanged or burned at the stake when they get their theocracy they crave so deeply.

Let’s see Hannity spends the whole time trying to get Michael Moore to admit that he’s made money, and should be ashamed of making money because he’s a liberal.
The conclusion is that Hannity thinks Michael Moore is a hypocrite, for making money and doing a film that’s anti capitalism.
Yes, Hannity liberals like making money too..

The Community Investment ACT—Paul Harvey was the ONLY voice who sorted out the Sub Prime Mortgage mess.
of the 14 trillion in bad paper… only 4 trillion was first time marginal borrowers. A full 10 TRILLION was speculative… investors who took advantage of the easy money to flip condos in Florida and Las Vegas.
It was musical chairs and when the music stopped… the poor were blamed - along with Clinton - even as BUSH gutted banking regs even further, to make money available for speculative building.
Hannity is a LIAR. The genesis of this catastrophe is not the fault of Clinton or the poor. 10 Trillion in bad paper was speculative.

Hannity is such a tool. He couldn’t get past the money made by Moore - he couldn’t understand that a rich man could hate the evils of capitalism.
I am a former Republican - and I love Obama. I think he’s the real thing… much like Moore.

WASTE OF SPACE
Neither of them landed a glove on the other.
Don’t bother to waste ten minutes of your life to prove it.
