Left, Right & Center

Tony Blankley, the “Right” of “Left, Right & Center,” stuns the panel by declaring global warming a phony issue. The gang also chews over Iran’s nuclear program and debates what should be done about the banks.

It was the scientists who changed it in hopes of reigning in some of the confusion. As for cooling, no not at this time. Not over all which is what climate is for the year, decade, century.

Some of the effects are catastrophic even if it doesn’t fit the drama of a volcano or earthquake as is with over two thirds of the frog species going extinct in such a short time. Or the fact that a tropical disease now has a foothold in Italy where none could ever do so before. The North Pole could be ice free during the summer much sooner than 2050. It could be within a decade or less. Australia could be moving out of a drought phase and into permanent desert conditions right now. The same could be said for the Great American Desert to become a true arid one.

The weather patterns are shifting into new configurations and once it is self perpetuating then we will really be in trouble. So some places will be getting rain they haven’t before, others colder than normal, hotter than normal, less rain, more rain, floods and freezes and droughts all adding up to big trouble. The last time we had such a drastic shift in temperature it caused disease, mass deaths, war and civil wars in Europe. Now we have many times more people and more weapons and it is happening everywhere.

If catastrophic “Global Warming” were such an open-and-shut case, why did the movement change that phenomenally successful brand to “Climate Change”?

It seems to me that they saw the writing on the wall (mounting counter-evidence and ever-increasing number of credible dissenting scientists), and are hedging their bets.

I can just see this coming from the ‘sky-is-falling-what-new-laws-can-government-pass’ crowd:

OK, so it’s not catastrophic global “warming” that is right around the corner.  We had it wrong. It’s actually catastrophic global “cooling”.  Either way, it’s catastrophic “climate change” so we must cede our freedom to our government(s) and have the intelligentsia decide on all important aspects of our lives.  After all, the brilliant academics and scientists that government will put in charge are in a much better position to know what’s right for us than that crazy invisible hand the greedy capitalists are always talking about.

The people of this country are facing a collective bankrupcy. Maybe this doesn’t matter to those at the top who’ve reformed the bankrucpy laws to prevent people from getting a fresh start, so they can continue to profit from our debts.

Yet on the other hand, we cannot afford another war, we can’t even afford the Wars we have right now, in Iran and Iraq.

We cannot afford $20 dollar a gallon gasoline, or multi million dollar, surgical strikes against Iran. The people can no longer pay for the banker’s and oilmen’s adventures overseas.

We can’t afford tax increases, we can’t afford even the military we have any more. And we can’t afford, to allow the bankers to run the government anymore.

America is in foreclosure, it’s time to realize we cannot afford a foreign policy with the whole country out of work.

Mr. Blankley is to be commended for his intellectual consistency in defending the
right-wing ideology. Tony often quotes Disraeli about the loyal opposition. He
considers it his job to find rational arguments to support his parties platform.
This is preferable to the “riling of the ignorant” canon that permeates nearly all of
the right-wing talk out there. Tony is an excellent barometer of the merit of any
given right-wing position. You know when Tony goes off the rails the right is
truly bankrupt on the iss-you.

Global warming is a case in point. The oil company support for right-wing power
is so pervasive even the intellectuals have to agree to take a vacation from reality.

Blakley must be a neo-liberal. Not any better. Our gov’t already knew for 3 years but sat on it till it could be used, like now.

So far no mention of sanctions against the nuclear criminal nations of India, Pakistan and Israel is there? Reason they are all patrons of the largest and most dangerous nation on earth—-the USA. That is the reason why. And why it will continue as threats to Iran will increase. Iran isn’t a good country but it has followed international law to a point and certainly better than those three I mentioned. Why isn’t the UN ruling against them too, the USA who holds sway over that paper tiger?

Global Warming? Isn’t it just Liberals and pointy headed scientists are for that?  It is a myth promulgated by those who want a One World Socialist State isn’t it? So we are told. Facts be damned!

I wish Iran would be going solar but you can’t make bombs from it. So just like Israel, Pakistan and India they want them for protection. We have no idea if they have contingency plans if the Supreme Iyatolla finds that the Koran does allow for them later under different circumstances. The Iranians are fearful of a bombing and missile attack so they have hidden an scattered their various facilities and stocked up on centrifuges in case of such and attack occurs. Israel is the most jumpy and will do it if they think the “threat” of loss of hegemony in the area happens. They won’t allow it. That is the reason but mention of it in polite company, or the fact of the threat from Israel’s nuclear arsenal doesn’t happen.

The real threat is having thousands of those weapons lying around to be used or malfunction causing havok that would stop Global Warming in its tracks. We just get nuclear winter for awhile. Between two bad choices that shouldn’t be made.

I guess Blakley disagrees with our own military on such threats. Oops!

Tony Blankley insisting he is not a neoconservative.

bwaaaah ha ha hahahahaha ha ha haha

Well he does have their annoying habits ingrained.  He has to get in his two cents as long as they agree with his agenda.

I can’t believe he talks about mass delusion.  Does he own a mirror?

In the days and weeks ahead, Iran promises to be a the media’s hot topic.

It’s not at all surprising how the ‘draw-down’ in Afgahnistan coincides with the ‘ratcheting up’ with Iran.

After all, the ‘scary monster’ technique is a proven to work well with Americans.  And there is just too much money in the game to expect anything less. Gotta keep those big defense contractors gainfully employed, after all… nding-bin-laden/

It was indeed stunning when TB admitted his ignorance about global warming on
today’s show.  And he went on to validate himself in the usual flawed way:  “The
scientists” are (all, consistently, somehow conspiratorially) wrong.  The science is
flawed, but here’s the scientific reason why they’re wrong: etc.

Do you see?  If science can’t be relied on, then why do you try to argue using
science?  TB should just admit he is more idealogue than rational human.

I was hoping for RS to pounce but oh well.  Even the useless “center” guy should
have at least exposed the flawed reasoning.  Maybe next time?

We are doomed.  We are doomed because virtually all of our liberal gatekeepers, like Robert Scheer, are as gullible as the majority of their constituents, who insist on their right to swoon at the posturings of Barack Obama, ignoring the avalanche of reason that is rolling down the mountain, about to bury them.

Surely Bob knows that the U.N. Security Council has, since its inception, acted as the cat’s paw of U.S. Imperialism.  Which makes all the more shocking his failure to see this week’s call to abolish nuclear weapons as but the latest example of such chicanery.

That the U.S., or for that matter, Russia, China, or Israel, would ever dismantle its nuclear arsenal, in the absence of a fully-operational and even more deadly weapons system, is RIDICULOUS (albeit mighty swoon-worthy).  As is the notion that the military industrial complex in this country would ever permit such dismantling to take place.

Perhaps Mr. Scheer will one day tell us how he decided that the UNSC resolution was something other than a pretext for a confrontation with Iran.  I’m guessing he’ll get around to it right after his and Hillary Clinton’s hunger strike against Israel succeeds in forcing that state to come clean about its secret forty-year old nuclear weapons program.
