Scotland Releases Ailing ‘Lockerbie Bomber’Posted on Aug 20, 2009
In this clip from the Associated Press, Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill of Scotland announces his country’s decision to release “Lockerbie bomber” Abdel Baset al-Megrahi on Thursday so the terminally ill Libyan can return to his homeland to die. Although the idea of granting the man convicted of killing 270 people on Pan Am flight 103 in 1988 has met with resistance, MacAskill describes his decision as one that balances justice with compassion. —KA AP via YouTube: Advertisement New and Improved CommentsIf you have trouble leaving a comment, review this help page.
