With the uprising of TownHollers in this Healthcare Debate, anyone beginning to see why these methods didn’t work for us liberals? They are obnoxious and unproductive.
No doubt topics like AIDS, Wars and Humane treatment should be brought to the national attention. But what has been the outcome of these distruptive outbursts. GRID was ignored until it became AIDS. ACT UP helped paint AIDS as a Gay or Junkie Disease, not the Blood Disease it is.This allowed the Reagan admin & its conservative base to ignore it.
PETA accosts people on the Street, destroying long since dead clothing, children visiting the Oscar Meyer Weiner car, releasing animals into inhospitable environements or foreign niches.This is not being an animal advocate, it’s being a vigilanti.
The Rightwings have been studying our ways- they lag behind by about a decade. We finally realize the error of our methods (Weathermen and Hurst) and change our ways- they pick up the method and run with it- Clinic & Fed building bombings. When the Right picked these terrorist methods up to change the politcal landscape, we whole heartedly abandoned them forever.
We called W & Cheney Traitors,Facists, Nazis- so guess who picked it up.
Now we face ourselves in the TownHollers- don’t they just piss you off? Aren’t you a lil’ concerned about how far they will take this anger and hostility? Aren’t ya kinda pissed you can’t hear intellegent discussion over their outburst and their disruptive aggressive behavior? Media spends more time discussing the Gunslinger than indepth reporting about the various proposal from both sides, or even why are healthcare system is in dire shape.
We shouldn’t just recognize these tactics, since we were the first to introduce them ,we should know by now how to defeat them. Repugs have been minimalizing our Social Discourse for decades.If Lefites feel the manner in which this debate is being fought is inappropriate and counterproductive, It will be Us who need to reinvent the process. It’ll take Repugs another decades to catch up, but ultimately they too will have to grow up to sit at the ‘adult table’.
It’s time to implode their ideology ontop of itself. Their Religous philosophies are in direct conflict with their economic and social stances.

Fact -seniors are altering meds or skipping them because they are now in the Doughnut hole of Medicare Part D, Jeporadizing their lives. Every day a managed care provider of medicare coverage denies a service to participants that medicare would have covered.who’s ‘Killing Granny’ right this minute?
Who is most effected by Tax cuts- those who depend on social programs- mothers children elderly. Why did Christ over turn the merchant tables- to pick up the loose coin? What did Christ do with that Fish & Bread he multiplied? Hoard it for himself? Sell it for profit?
The Religious Right not only does not practice what it preaches, It doesn’t even really believe it’s basic premise.
