Media Matters caught CNN’s Erica Hill asking, “What are the real proposals here for public insurance? And why is it so unpopular?” Not sure where she gets her info, since polls here, here, here, here, here and here say a majority of Americans like the idea.

I saw this when I had briefly clicked over to their ever-more unwatchable network. I wanted to jump through the roof when I heard her say it was unpopular - although even in looking into the public option, it’s clear they never want to examine the popularity of single-payer. http://www.wpasinglepayer.org/PollResults.html  The only place these things are unpopular is the US Senate. The only reasonably progressive host on CNN is F. Zakaria, unless you count Hughley if his show is even still on.

CNN is just an empty brand anymore. Infotainment for fun and profit. I give them till the next election to become an infomercial entirely. If Heffner decided to go into news CNN would be rating in the basement within a week.
